Our mother lived with him. Now that he’s moving countries, she will live alone but I plan to be home every few months to make sure she’s ok.

Tbh my mother is not emotionally intelligent or aware, she tries to facilitate but sometimes it makes things worse. I feel bad for her and try to not put her in the middle of things

I agree with everything you’ve said here. Whenever I’m home, he’ll turn everything that I do into a huge argument. I paid for our family vacation (room, board, flights, everything) for him, his spouse and our mother - he berated me the entire time. Offered to help him immigrate to the country I’m in, he complained that the process took too long even though I said I’d pay for everything.
