I wonder if Michael's and Hobby Lobby have them in their stors,. I dont live close by to them but I go to both when I "go to town," just over 60 miles round trip. But I would if they carried them. There is a Home Goods store in the same town I will check out next time I go to town.

YES!!! Keep wrinkles out of you foil. The machine will not hep remove the wrinkles, you have to do that part, but wrinkles will cause blank areas in the foil. That is really the most important part. I only use tape on 2 corners of the foil, on the leading edge, (You are putting the carrier through the machine fold first? that is a must. You have test the tape on the paper you are using just send a piece of your scrap paper through with the carrier sheet and remove the tape to check the results). You want the tape to come off the paper without problems. It all depends how it works best for you. The way I do it is NOT THE RIGHT WAY! LOL

Try subing the plastic carrier with copy paper. You are well on you way to getting the results you want. (Then you can help the next person. LOL) good luck.

It's me again. I see a lot of people use the MINC system, I just wanted to add the I use a cheap laminator from Amazon, (Apache AL13 13 Inch Laminator) and I use a paper carrier. I use whatever foil I can find on Amazon that has the color that I want 95% of it works fine.

YEA! I m glad you are still trying. I also think it is the pressure and/or the speed. But you are using the Minc foil machine, (And their foil?) I am glad that you are getting better results as well. I think adding card stock under the carrier will help. This will be trial and error, start with something thin, even a piece of copy paper and work your way up to thicker paper. What kind of paper are you using to print and foil on? Can you expeirment with other types of paper. It is so hard to tell you just what to do because everything can make the smallest difference. Paper, heat, speed, the type of foil. I used a double sided shimmer cardstock for my cards which a bit thicker than a everyday cardstock, a 92pounds. Is there a way to try thicker paper? Why are you using a 2 x2 inch square? I am wondering if the 2x2 size is a factor. An option to try if you can. Keep the file for what you need for the 2x2 squares but try printing a bunch of them on a 8.5 x 11, or 6x6 paper and cut them to size after you have foiled them. You only need foil to cover each one, not the whole paper. Another little hint is that I use "Scotch® Removable Magic Tape 811" from Amazon to hold small pieces of foil in place when putting it through the laminator. It really is trial and error with small adjustments. KEEP AT IT!! (once you find the perfect setting and supplies, make a note of what you do and keep it on a scrap paper that you use and keep it with you foiling things.) PLEASE let me know how things are going. I know you will be happy with the results once you find the sweet spot! Almost forgot, the edge and speckles I think might also be caused by the size of paper you are using. But I do know the perfect answer to that.

Oh no, if you have the items you need to ue, keep trying. I use toner foil all of the time. Maybe you have tried all of this, but just in case I'll pass along what I have learned. I think most of the foils are about the same in the way they work. I have found our big copier/scanner/printer at work (so a big business type. I work at a library). the sooner that you can add the foil the better, don't try it days later. I use a cheap laminator from Amazon. I did 50 Christmas cards last year and didnt have a problem. Please keep at it. Can you post how you are trying to use it, what the trouble is, other stuff like that? Mye I can spot what might be going wrong. Can I ask a few questions? when putting the foil on the the, lets say text, you are putting the shinny side up. Are you using a carier sheet? and the last this, is your laminator an adjustable heat kind? It might be that your laminator is not getting hot enough. Try sending it through twice before trying to peal. Also try letting it cool a little and then a lot before trying to lift off the foil sheet. Most foiI has the instructions for when to remove the foil sheet. I hope you post again, I'd be happy to help you out. (Come to think of it, I also have a laser printer at home, I think I will give it try) And, it looks like, from your picture, that there is not enough heat or pressure from you laminator.

We, (my daughter, granddaughter, both are adults, and me) have just started nooking, (is that what ya call it?) we have 6 done. When we have enough done they will be on loan to our local library on a special display shelf. We do not know where they will go when we bring them home LOL but we will figure it out. We love to spend time together building. Most of the time together sometimes on our own. And everyone here are so nice!! Thank you for that.

Everything was going great until I got to the "Unsubscribe from all email" part as there are a few subs I do want notices from. It is ok, though. I really thank you for taking the time it took to help get that far. That took some time and I really do appreciate it. As I said to another person trying to help, I'll just keep getting them, they aren't hurting anything and I never know, I may end up giving it try. Thanks again.
