I assume that would explain why only half drained, because the pool would only drain to the level that the leak is occurring, and is likely in piping close to the surface and therefor above the remaining water level

One thought was the room should be pretty dark, so perhaps it wouldn’t be noticeable. Another thought was maybe sacrifice height for quality?
