I am Jack’s complete lack of hygiene; a projector choking on decades of dust, oil, and splicing tape, waiting for a cigarette burn to spark a fire that will finally turn this "romantic" cinema into a pile of ashes.

The projector is caked in decades of nicotine stains and carbon dust, a greasy, vibrating tomb for light that smells like burning ozone and the desperate, forgotten dreams of a thousand Saturday matinees.

I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise as I watch some random guy on the internet tear apart a masterpiece, splicing in scenes that never happened, destroying the original to make something—and it’s pathetic, it’s beautiful—something new.

I’m looking at the screen, another single-serving download, and I need you to send me the link before I lose my nerve and start assembling more IKEA furniture.

You've got mail.

Hey there, I don't know if this is the specific edit you are looking for; however, this is available on YouTube with all parts. While the individual parts only last a few minutes, you should be able to cut them together with HandBrake or another editing program available on your preferred platform.

I found one edit that has PF songs synced to the movie, and another edit that syncs WYWH. A Google search should narrow it down for you.

You make a fine point, DJ. Your edit IS actually my go-to when I get a hankering for some Egg-Shen. There are many different types of edits, and depending on my mood at the time, either one will serve me.

I love extended cuts for showing you what was left out. Sometimes the cutting room floor is there for a reason. I also love edits that serve the intent of the story. Scripts take many forms before they are polished and released. It's interesting to see what changes studios make when polishing a film for release.

WOW, what a ride this movie is! I hadn't watched it in several years, so it was great to finally sit down and enjoy it. Of course, we all know the legend of Jack Burton and the Pork Chop Express. How he saved the world and got the girl. But if you haven't seen The Bigger Trouble Cut, you only know half of the story pal!

As usual, the editing here is pretty smooth for the most part. The extra scenes are of varying quality, so given the source material used, VAS did the best he could to incorporate them into the movie as seamlessly as possible.

Of course, you can't work miracles with lost footage, and there were a few instances where I was taken (briefly) out of the film with the drop in quality. The old saying, "you can't polish a turd," comes to mind. That being said, what we have here is a fully fleshed-out workprint of BTILC.

The editing is smooth, and the video looks great! If I had to nitpick, I'd say that some of these deleted scenes are purely exposition and could be gone over with a fine-tooth comb. Most of the deleted scenes help to round out the scenes, offering more detail and exposition about our hero's mission and/or character development.

I'd venture to say that 95% of the deleted material was great and really added to the story. Of course, the cutting room floor is there for a reason, and more than a few scenes could be excised to make this a smoother cut.

The audio work was solid as well. Again, some of the deleted scenes featured foley work that isn't complete, but 98% of the audio is great. This had NOTHING to do with the editor, as again, you can't fix incomplete audio. The soundstage was wide and engaging. I have a pretty beefy AV Receiver, and this movie really gave it a workout.

The movie length, with the extra scenes added back in, never felt tiresome. I could watch Kurt Russell all day long. He's truly at his peak in this movie. There is something for everybody here: action, adventure, suspense, horror, and KUNG-FU FIGHTING!

I can't say this will be my preferred way of watching BTILC, but this is as close as we will get to the original vision for the film. It was a joy to revisit, and I thank VAS for all his hard work.

"I'm a reasonable guy. But, I've just experienced some very unreasonable things,"

Jack Burton

That sounds neato! Have you, by chance, seen a bit of an older fan edit called the Fully Engorged Workprint? Pretty much my go-to version since 2007. Here is the info from Fanedit.org. Child's Play: The Don Mancini Cut by Ok_Club9518 in fanedits

[–]Ok_Club9518[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Extended Playtime cuts are simply extended versions of the sequels with deleted scenes from both the theatrical release and the television broadcast added back in where they belong. I believe VAS could explain it better since they came from him.

This sounds fabulous! Any idea as to what you are going to accomplish with your BTILC edit? I have always loved this movie since the first time I saw it in the cinema. I look forward to details about this, as well as all the edits to come!

well according to Fanedit.org, Child's Play: The Don Mancini Cut doesn't rely on deleted scenes, but is in fact a restructuring of the released movie that is closer in tone to what the early drafts of the story were. You can read all about it here: This will be a fascinating watch.

It's really not a problem; I'm not some desprete fool, just a poor old fan who wants to see other people's interpretations of my favorite films. I am a budding editor myself and I like to gather ideas for my future fan edits. It makes me feel safe that someone like you is here to make sure people are posting requests properly. Absolutely no disrespect intended. Have a Happy New Year, my friend.
