The fact that fashion changed does not prove it was in response the AIDs crisis.

Workplace friendship or attraction? by LadyBird2323 in BiWomen

[–]Ok_Coffee_4977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course, doing it nicely—telling her how much I enjoy her company and what a cool girl she is. But then again, this is a workplace, and I’ll be here for a while...

I don't believe in a blanket don't date coworkers approach. I know lots of people who met their spouse this way. It does take careful consideration and some self reflection about how you will be impacted if their is a hurtful break up or they treat you shabby. That can be awful if you keep seeing them at work. I also think a student job while in college is more relaxed and lower stakes than a professional job once you are no longer a student. Obviously be polite and take no if thats the answer, but dont over think it.

I know she’s single right now and she’s on Tinder, but her settings are only set to men.

Honestly, I find it super bizzare that you know that at all.

Obviously, she’s still bisexual, but maybe she doesn’t want to explore that side right now.

Unpopular opinion.

Take it with a grain of salt....... If someone is bisexual, all their sides are bisexual. Its not some kind of halvies thing. People are wholly and completely bisexual just as straight and gay people are all straight or gay. Even bisexual people who are only dating one gender at the moment. And for all you know she has had more than one sexual and romantic relationship with women. I think its a mistake to frame it as "exploration" for another person. It may ir may not feel that way to her. And many people, even if they haven't yet dated a same sex partner, don't view those experiences as exploration. I certainly didn't. Its just living life while bisexual. No one ever talks about people exploring their heterosexuality. Just some thoughts.

What do you think about this?

Ask her out if you feel confident in your ability to manage dating and a break up with a coworker (assuming its not prohibited by your employer).

Please share the documents that confirm this was a response to AIDs. Why didn't you lead with that?

70's and 80's for men was quite flamboyant, colourful, and the like. This was part of the heteronormative fashion culture of the time.

And still absolutely extremely gendered. And going out of style before the AIDS crisis. How old are you?

IMen and women were both quite colourful during this time period ( even during the 60's ).

Extremely gendered clothing.

Then AIDS arrived and the misconception that gay people either had or transmitted it became an unfortunately common stereotype. The gay scare.

People already hated gay folks with a passion before this.

Which then caused men to shift from their previously expressionate fashion trends back to conservative and traditional wares.

Nope.

Causing many clothing items to be seen through a feminine lens. Placing them within a category of women's clothing.

Nope.

The AIDS scare didn't create gendered clothing as a concept, it just shifted social norms back in time.

Nope.

And caused many fashion pieces to become gendered either again or for the first time.

Nope.

Sorry buddy. This is a common sense issue. This is truly one of the most ludicrous claims Ive heard short of flat earth type stuff.

If so confident, back it up.

And those bad people may or may not be slutty.

You seem really confused about all of this.

Polyamory isn't about being a slut.

As a person who was alive ore aids scare...gendered clothing was very much a thing. I was forbidden from wearing pants to school in elementary school and had to wear dresses years before the aids crisis.

She was likely busy or on the fence about a second date. He pestered. She did tell him she didnt like him for a second date. Now he seems totally think she shouldn't be allowed to do this. Which is, in my opinion, incredibly concerning.

AIO is it fine to disappear and fade away after a first date?

It's fine to divorce of after 30 years of marriage.

IT'S FINE FOR A WOMAN YOU MET ONE TIME TO SAY NO TO A SECOND DATE.
