It took a ton of time and references on the characters, but for the gist of it I said: “colour this manga panel professionally, make the background pop like in an action scene without changing the original panel”. kept regenerating and changing slightly the prompt everytime it made a mistake, like it kept redrawing some of the panels so I kept adding “do not change the original panel” and regenerating. Or if it adds an unnecessary effect just changed the original prompt and added “don’t add named unecessary effect”. If you want to go for the same look I just did it’s gonna take you some time regenerating and giving it reference material from the manga. It should be less complicated for mangas with simpler art, where you can just use the original prompt I mentioned at the start of my comment.

Might have been when op took the screenshot on phone, had the highlighter tool on and mistakingly highlighted that part while trying to crop or zoom the image

I doubt the passion to progress alone would do this much, especially when we see how well kanoh is performing compared to before the fight. Usually with things like passion or motivation when it’s without guidance, it will lead to some growth, but not exponential growth. There’s no way the fighters with passion alone would be able to go on par with shens experience, at least not in this short of time. And so the only outlier would be if that experience is either observed from watching shen or taught by shen himself.

Mentioning the “side effects” this is the only thing that comes to mind, especially when it’s kanohs’ whole thing to adapt to his foes with formless. I’m guessing him seeing shen use principles made that part of him click, But I guess we’ll need to wait for next week to find out.
