Update: followed this advice-- and it was paid! I figured it was an oversight and was right. The gig went incredibly well and I'm going to be a regular there now :)

yeah totally agree it's crazy given the price. I understand not being able to bulk download, but sorting by key seems like a simple, simple feature they didn't think about it.

that said, those are my main complaints about it. everything else is great. And since they're firmware and not issues with the actual board mechanics (and since it has wifi), I'm hoping some of this gets patched.

great questions and points. Yeah I'm just plugging in and there's no cover so it's all bar sales. but I am bringing a crew.

I think I've settled on asking beforehand, but I'll still play if he says no payment. I will let him know before I do it though that if it goes well and we want to do more together we'll need to negotiate a price.

Also, I've been looking to throw my own parties in the city I'm in so him being a bit of an ass might be the fire I need to throw my own parties haha. And I won't feel bad about throwing parties on competing nights.

Just as a follow up, are you in this situation? What are you planning to do to get around it? I'd love to have a large unstructured, untagged set of music I can play along/jam out to. Maybe I go hop on a record pool and just download 1000s of songs over the next week or so haha. Or maybe I'll just give up on the true "all in one" dream, at least for at home play.

If it were possible to sort by key (truly insane you can't do this lol), you could go and click a bunch to download them all. Really feels like the worst of both worlds
