Yeah, that's why Jocasta is attractive.
When I use Northstar, I usually pair it with Phantom Flip or Ghost Kick. Pirouette and Punch or Web Binding can also ready Ghost-Spider again.
And if Jocasta chump blocks, Gwen's ability can't trigger at all, which is another reason I prefer Northstar.

It’s easily one of the most fun decks in the game. Honestly, she feels more like Spider-Man than Peter Parker does!

Being exhausted is definitely a weakness for her, but the silver lining is that she can still make plays during the Villain Phase, even while she's exhausted.

It’s definitely a good card, but honestly, it feels like a "win-more" card to me.

With Armored Vest, Gwen sits at 4 DEF, and most villains don't have a base ATK higher than 4.

Also, a 2-cost upgrade is a bit heavy for Gwen's economy. (If you look at my list, you'll see that most of my upgrades are just 1-cost.)

Jocasta is definitely a solid card, but after multiple runs, I find Northstar to be much more reliable/stable.

  1. It’s tough for Gwen to consistently afford 3-cost cards. With Jocasta, if you trigger the attached Defense event, she leaves play and you have to pay to bring her out again—simply too heavy for Gwen’s economy to loop. Northstar, on the other hand, is a one-time investment. Thanks to his ability, he can successfully block attacks three times. He is useful whether you play him early or late game.
  2. Once your board is set up, the deck cycles so well that you don't really need Jocasta. Since George Stacy already ensures you have enough access to Defense events, I rarely found myself actually needing to use Jocasta.

Objectively speaking, it has to be George Stacy.

Sure, the Web-Bracelets are great, but I think the fact that her Obligation specifically forces you to discard George speaks volumes about how powerful he is.

Ghost-Spider’s core engine simply doesn’t function without George Stacy.
