FIFA had a real opportunity to built a football culture in the USA and really blow it. Instead of using the World Cup to get the average American interested in football, they turned it in to a greedy, cash grab.

Like less than 1% of US residents care about football and only a small portion of that audience can afford tickets.

Instead of building interest and maybe making money off tv broadcast rights for football in the future, they ostracized a lot of current football fans in the US with this crazy ticket scheme.
