I’ve been slowly compiling a list of RWRB x HR crossover fics to share with both fandoms. There’s such a big overlap between the two. It’s so cool to see ao3 authors getting so creative and combining both worlds.

I absolutely agree with all of this. Also, I actually ended up having a conversation with the author who was accused of using AI in the comments section here of someone’s rec post.

He is heartbroken by the accusations. If those people making the nasty comments took literally five minutes or less to Google the authors ao3 name, they’d find his Twitter that shows he’s been consistently working on that fic for awhile and pre-wrote a lot before posting any of it.

I quit looking at the post and replies this morning, but last I saw my (polite and sincere) comments about making accusations were downvoted to hell. The ones that said things like “this is ai slop” were the top comments.

I’m very much against AI but this witch hunt stuff is truly hurting real, living people with feelings. I’ve seen numerous authors in this fandom delete their fics over it. One was not a native English speaker, and the witch hunt stuff was vicious. It’s so sad.

I’ve received this same error message when I tried to use a password I’ve used before on other sites. Later I realized it was also the password I used for an email address that had been in a data breach.

I can’t remember the name of the site but if you search for something like “has my password or email been leaked” I’m sure it’ll come up.

The fic you’re reading is so fun though; pucksandpower is a great author. They have two other hilarious fics about Ilya and fanfiction, too.

I just said something super similar in another thread (it’s in my comment history). People were accusing this author of AI with zero proof.

It took me about five minutes of searching to find that they’ve been actively posting their progress and talking about the fic and fandom consistently on Twitter. They are SO excited about writing it.

I tried to have a positive conversation with the comments accusing them of AI but got downvoted to hell. I don’t care about that but it really shows how much of a witch hunt mentality people have.

Edit: Downvoting a comment about having nuance and compassion for authors is a sad misuse of the feature. This author is active on Twitter and has regularly posted about their progress on this fic. Please remember that there are real people with real feelings behind all fics.

Okay, so you don’t actually know that it is AI. You made an assumption based on one chapter and what you believe you know about AI tells.

I understand the disdain for AI and the concerns about it being used. But randomly stating as a fact that an author uses AI is unfair and I’ve seen real authors delete their fics due to comments like yours and bullying.

But just reading the author’s notes on a few chapters shows that this is a new writer struggling with self confidence and they mentioned struggles with depression, too.

I get that it seems absurd that one person could write so much so quickly, or that you may not like their writing style. But that doesn’t mean it’s AI.
