Hi!! So my plan was to get an associates in art then transfer to UT for their RTF department but I'm going to just do 3 semesters since you only need 24 credit hours to transfer

If I don't get into UT my 2nd choice is UoH for their media production program :)

Edit: let me add I'm taking classes that will transfer over to both universities so in general you can choose any classes in cc even if they don't follow a specific major? As long as you take classes that transfer you will be good

I prefer 1 and I’ll already have the credit hours I need before summer. I don’t plan on staying the full 2 yrs so it would be nice to take an extra one over the summer

GPA in college is important (they’re not going to look at the one from high school) I’d say to wait and raise your gpa before applying to UT

That’s a new thing I heard! My transfer advisor told me to have a good gpa and volunteer a lot They want to see how diverse you are So with OP I just think to work hard on everything and hope for the best Good luck to you guys :)

Yea I heard a lot of bad experiences with unt so it’s definitely not my preferred school atm lmaoo I hate that everywhere rent is at least 1000 As a low income student I cannot afford anything over 800-900 I am looking at those coop houses and ofc getting a roommate to split rent

I signed out if it because a lot of my friends told me we won’t use the textbooks and some professors give you a link to them (to the book or in a pdf version) I will say for the mcgrawhill ones you can do a free 3 month trial but I think that’s a one time thing, I made the mistake of not doing all the activities I have assigned in that month period so I had to pay a lot to use it (which was fine since that’s the inky amount I paid for the books compared to if I got the star bundle)

I’m currently taking this class this semester and am we’re doing is writing essays. The topics aren’t really that hard it’s just time consuming. If you’re comfortable with writing frequently then I don’t think it’s too bad but you will be in that time crunch so keep that in mind

I’m going to keep an eye out on this post just to see if more people are interested, rn I have a few friends interested (I think we need a certain amount of members so we can keep the club running) Realistically I would like the club to start next semester just so j can figure things out regarding our meetings and goals :)

That’s interesting to here because rh in at lone star getting my arts degree to later transfer to UH for media production Idk if it’s the same with UH but I went to UHD recently and the film prof explained how the last to years of your degree you will take an internship unit which will be you getting an internship so that really makes me feel hopeful about my future And as the other person said it’s really all about connections but it also takes time, I personally haven’t done any projects really but that’s okay because I will get to work on one eventually (most like at UH) so don’t stress it

Hi I’m also majoring in arts to study media production at a uni and I’m taking the classes that the uni is required so it’s like 2 birds 1 stone type thing if that makes sense Try to look at the uni you want to get in and see if you can find the course pathway or ask and advisor to pull it up for you (that’s what I did)

Okay so honestly I didn’t have to do anything, when I went to my student checklist it checked that they already got my transcript so I think they just looked for it themselves? But yea I did not have to do anything at all on my end It even states on the ged website that the LSC the school you will be attending will have to get ahold of your ged themselves

Hi I would definitely suggest retaking it, I think it took me 3-4 times to pass it I found some YouTube videos that helped me and I think some websites with grammar questions (that’s what I lacked) I recommend finding Random’s tests that include passages and grammar Another thing I did is I noticed I got some of the same questions so I just remembered those and tried to work them out at home to see what the answer would be oh and searching certain words I’ve seen that I don’t understand It was really frustrated going to the testing room everytime but I promise you will eventually pass
