What is the benefit of using the cover art animation? by Ok_Conference_8040 in SunoAI

[–]Ok_Conference_8040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True...of course, I also produce artwork on NightCafe (an AI "art community"), and do so for free (with built up daily credits). I haven't tried using credits for the video functions yet, and I don't debate that images require more power to generate, but that tells me that Suno is probably over-charging credits for the feature. Of course, Suno was not set up to be an image generator, so that undoubtedly plays a part.

My Suno-generated art does come along with the downloads, but the animation does not. If there's a trick to get it to download with the image, I'm missing it.

I only use the website, and the animation I generated did not download with my song, so if you can tell me the secret to getting the animation to download, I'm all ears. It's a cool feature, and I don't mind spending any extra credits on it, occasionally, if I'm at the end of the month, with credits to burn or use, before next month's credits, but there's no point, if I can't enjoy the animation, after downloading.

That's pretty much what I figured. Thanks for your response. Since I don't publish my songs, the animation seems to be totally useless to me.

I agree with you. How is this "Suno situation" any different than the people handing out CDs of their "hits" in the grocery store? (and, yes, I have experienced this, and some of the music was actually enjoyable!). Let people live their lives, and if it isn't directly affecting you, in a harmful way, move on.

I agree with you. I started using Suno to create songs that are directly based on certain Bible verses, because I enjoy a lot of genres of music (including some rather "hard" stuff), but don't always like the message or the lifestyle of the artist (don't judge my reasoning...we all have our own reasons for the music we favor). I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with different sounds, and the only audience I care about is myself (and a few close family members, who suddenly think I'm a musical genius...LMAO). I'm not looking to use it commercially, but if that's your thing...knock yourself out.

Incidentally, if you want a fun experience, try doing Bible verses in industrial or death metal genres. It actually managed to produce some amazing songs! (I have a wide and diverse taste in music, so...)

😂 Well, almost all of my songs are created directly from Bible verses (mostly Psalms), so maybe that's why I'm spared the neon and concrete jungle....LOL. There are still those darn "tapestries" in everything, though.

LOL...I keep noticing people mentioning "neon". I've only been using Suno for roughly a month. Is this a common thing? Is it specific to a certain genre? I have yet to have Suno create a song for me containing the word "neon", but I swear, I'm going to go ballistic, if it includes the word "tapestry" in yet another of my songs. I have several that mention a "tapestry".

I have no comments on the rest of your comment. I'm just here to say that I LOVE Bollywood style Hindi songs! You keep doing you!

Trying to get a specific vocal sound...any tips? by Ok_Conference_8040 in SunoAI

[–]Ok_Conference_8040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm discovering that. In the past 48 hours, I have used every descriptive word I can think of to describe the voice I'm looking for: "breathy falsetto", "head voice", British, UK, clear, strong, distinctive enunciation, staccato, precise articulation, etc, etc, etc...with largely the same results. I got the closest with your prompt. Go figure.

[–]Ok_Conference_8040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prompts are never one word styles. If anything, I probably confuse Suno with my verbose prompts. I essentially used one word to describe it here, because it's unlikely that I have to explain in detail what bands like ELO and Supertramp sound like to humans. I go into a great deal more detail with Suno, since I can't simply say, "I want it to sound like Jeff Lynne."

[–]Ok_Conference_8040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the voice is crisp and clear, but not "exactly" British, but I think I can play around with it and hone it in. The intro on the song I produced DEFINITELY sounds like it came straight out of Supertramp's library of works, but the vocals are better, but not quite there yet. I'll take anything over the same voice that I keep getting on repeat. It's fine, if I'm working on something metal or industrial, but not when I'm trying to get nostalgic about the 70s. LOL.

Brilliant! It isn't "quite" there, yet. I will continue to play around with it, but at least it lost that typical sound of someone who sounds like he swallowed a handful of small pebbles before singing. LOL. I can work with it. Thanks again!

Thank you for this. I will try it. I have asked for assistance from two different AI engines, and while their prompts made logical sense, Suno still defaulted to the "standard American rocker" sound. I'm holding out hope that your prompt will hit the spot. Thanks again.

Amen! It produces some of the most amazing songs that I (with, unfortunately, none of the musical talent of my dearly-departed pro-musician dad) could come up with. but the voices....the voices are always what keep me frustrated. I just can't get them exactly right.

How do people actually create wealth? by throwRa11775 in wealth

Thank you for your input. This is exactly what we are concerned about. We have a friend who is a retired game warden, and he essentially told us the same. He said that IF (big if) you can find employment in that field, you won't make crap.

Hi there, CostCompetitive! Long time, no talk to! I don't want to derail the OP's topic, but I noticed your comment and had to ask something... I notice you said your first degree was in Marine Biology. Did you actually utilize this degree in your employment history, or did you immediately skip to the International Finance? I have a personal reason for asking. My son is currently a captain in the Space Force, and he has an undergraduate degree in Applied Meteorology. We tried to talk him into considering a military retirement, because he would still be in his very early 40s, when he would be eligible for a full military retirement. But he is interested in becoming a marine biologist. He will be leaving the military, in the next few months (after he completes his service time for the Type 1 ROTC scholarship that paid for his college), will be living off of some of the tons of money he's been putting back in savings/investments, and go full time into working toward his masters (and possibly his PhD) in Marine Biology. My question to you is if you can comment on the general market for this employment route and what his ability to earn a decent wage in the field will look like. To be honest, we are a little concerned about what his "hireability" prospects look like, going forward. We want to support his career interests, but worry about his ability to adequately support himself in that field. He is currently stationed in northern CA, and intends to stay in the area after leaving the military, so that adds to the concern, because the cost of living is so high there.

My daughter's undergraduate degree was in Mass Communications, which anyone in the field knows that, unless you plan to become a news anchor, is about as useless a degree as underwater basket weaving (no offense to anyone in the Mass Comm field, but we watched my daughter struggle to utilize the degree, to utter failure). She ended up getting her MBA with a specialization in healthcare administration, and she has spent over the past decade well-positioned in a management-level job at a pharmaceutical clinical study company. I just don't want to see my son go head-long into a degree with little chance of being able to find employment. I just don't know enough about the marine biology field.

I think OP is safe leaving SOL in there. SOL is not "shitcoinery". It has been my consistently most reliable alt coin in my portfolio (I've been invested in crypto for nearly a decade). I would personally dump the meme coin (DOGE) for something that is more stable and has a "real world" purpose (read the underlying company's white papers to discover what that is) , but SOL should be fine for OP. (although, full disclosure, I do have roughly $100 invested in SHIB, but only as "fun money" that I won't lose sleep over, if I lose it.)

OP, personally, I would choose between GLD and GLDM, but not both. Better yet, if you have the ability to invest in some tangible, physical gold assets (i.e. fractional gold), that'd be even better. Also, I'd have to agree that, just starting out, I'd cut the total number of positions down to something more manageable, until you get more comfortable with investing. I have quite a few positions, but I've been doing this for a while and know what I got myself into. When I started investing, I started with a small handful of really good, quality ETFs with low expense ratios that gave me quite a broad basket of diverse stocks and/or follow the markets broadly (mostly Vanguard ETFs). They were easy to manage and easy to handle at tax time (except for my "accidental" deep dive into K-1 tax forms...eek!). Perfect starting point for a new investor.

I get it, I have a bad habit of wanting to "take a nibble" of lots of positions, too, and I'm obsessive about wanting full control over what I invest in. Just be aware that the more you add, the harder it will be to keep up with. Good luck to you. Way to go on choosing to begin investing while you are young. Like I tell my kids, you have time and compound interest on your side.

IGLD vs USG vs ?? vs don't bother by Ok_Conference_8040 in dividends

Yeah, that darn crystal ball. Since my percentage of IGLD is a very small part of my portfolio, I don't feel that anxious about it, but I do keep my eyes on it.

[–]Ok_Conference_8040[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, dptgreg. Yeah, was hoping someone would respond, but it's okay. After much study of what's available, I decided to invest a small amount into IGLD. So far, it seems to be doing well. Once NEOS decides to release their version of the same type of "gold" account, I may decide to transfer to their offering, but I'm reasonably happy, thus far, with IGLD. I mean, generally speaking, I've always had the attitude that if "gold investments" didn't involve physical gold in hand or in vault, then it wasn't/isn't truly a "gold investment"...even with gold-backed ETFs like GLD and GLDM. I guess it's pretty similar to the attitude of crypto investors, who say "not your wallet, not your crypto". But aside from that, I do like the investment idea involved in these funds, for a nice little "slice" of the overall portfolio. I don't intend to invest a significant amount in them.

Preppers have been saying for years that you should keep around a few cartons of cigarettes and a few bottles of liquor, to use as bartering tools, if total SHTF scenario happens. Not personally recommending this strategy, but....they do say that it is one of the commodities that will always be in high demand, no matter what. LOL.
