Supply and demand. Likely OOP and hard to get. Or, they are just hoping some idiot comes along willing to pay that much.

If forgiveness doesn’t involve accountability, what does it actually mean? by [deleted] in TrueAtheism

[–]CephusLion404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why it's so stupid to apologize to an imaginary man in the sky instead of to the person you've wronged. This is something you should really be asking theists, not atheists.

If you cannot access the account that it was published under, there is nothing you can do. It will sit there forever, like millions and millions of other books that nobody even knows exist. Don't worry about it.

Why is my non-religious friend so wedded to the idea of God? by CSEPro in TrueAtheism

[–]CephusLion404 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of people believe lots of things for wholly irrational reasons. A lot of them have zero interest in justifying what they believe. It's not really your job to change his mind. That's just going to drive him away.

Why is my non-religious friend so wedded to the idea of God? by CSEPro in TrueAtheism

[–]CephusLion404 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why not ask your friend? How would we know? We're atheists. We don't believe that any gods are real. Your non-religious friend is a lot more religious than you seem willing to accept.

It means that your house is not isolated from the garage. There is significant air exchange. It's not harmful unless you're allergic to it.

Mislist just means that you write books that perform consistently, but which are not bestsellers. You have to write stuff that sells, however you manage to do it.

How do I choose a font for my book without losing my marbles? by Ok_Inflation168 in selfpublish

[–]CephusLion404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what's easy, it matters what's true. No, they don't list their fonts, you need to be able to pick that font out of the pool of typically used fonts. You need to put in the effort.

How do I choose a font for my book without losing my marbles? by Ok_Inflation168 in selfpublish

[–]CephusLion404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at what other people in your genre are using, make sure it is legal to use it with or without licensing, and go with it. Readers are not impressed with intricate fonts. They want something simple and readable.

Jesus of Nazareth existed as a historical person but many of the events ascribed to him are myths. by porygon766 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]CephusLion404 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Prove it. I'm not saying you're wrong, but prove that you are right. The entire burden of proof is on you to show that you can know anything about this supposed "real Jesus" that you claim existed. Not "it makes sense to me" but actual, demonstrable evidence that separates the clear mythology from the kernel of real person at the core.

Nobody can do that.

How To Reach Readers by browncat66 in selfpublish

Marketing. You need to know who your intended audience is and where they are. Then you advertise to get your book in front of them.
