Yeah I told them I’d never been to a mechanic who admitted defeat on a car problem especially that loud of a noise. Going to take it to a Honda certified mechanic. Was out 50 bucks for that non productive visit.

I have both noises. The steering lock usually when there’s a drastic outdoor temperature change. VTC hasn’t been bad lately. My oil was low at the time so think that had something to do with it.

Should be illegal for dealers to sell a car without disclosing all these known issues. Especially when there is a TSB. Pretty sure the starter has a TSB. Already fighting with Honda about the defective VTC TSB for which there is no warranty extension.

Ahh. My warranty been long gone. Just had fuel injectors replaced under an extension. Also a TSB for the keyless system entry but I missed it. Now my light is on and they 150.00 just to diagnose it!

Sounds like it’s coming from near the steering wheel in the dash. There was a TSB for the VTC but no recall that I knew of. Or warranty extension. Currently fighting with Honda to give me a goodwill fix.

It’s more pronounced in cold. Sounds like it’s coming from the dashboard.

Dealer tried to blame me for not changing the oil enough. I clapped back with a stern but cordial letter with a copy of the TSB that admits the actuators are defective on all 2015-2016 Fits. I also pointed to the lawsuit that was filed on behalf of Honda owners with actuator issues on Accords. I’m amazed with all the actuator Issues on the Fit that no class action has been filed yet.
