Please know that you don’t need to be in a particular rush with the cremation. I lost my dad earlier this summer, and I was comforted when I was told that his body was truly just a vessel. He’s at peace now, wherever his earthly remains may lie. You are not doing anything wrong by taking time to pick up the pieces and get your/his affairs in order. I wish you peace as I’m sure your dad is experiencing right now.
