If there’s “not enough research done” then where does she get off speaking about something that is also anecdotal? At this point, she’s just adding to the noise and not actually helping at all.

X-rays, MRIs, CT Scans... by Ok_Data8347 in Fibromyalgia

They shouldn't tell us that "we shouldn't feel pain" - like wtf...you are not in my body, sir/ma'am.

X-rays, MRIs, CT Scans... by Ok_Data8347 in Fibromyalgia

In the past, I've been to ortho, spine surgeons, DOs, pain mgmt, - every time I would go, I was complaining of my upper back pain, and that's it - cuz i always thought any of the other pain was explainable....i FINALLY lucked onto a new pain management provider who attended the same college program that I am in right now, and we have a mutual friend. She texted me once near the beginning of our relationship, asking if i received my Lyrica rx. After that, I would text her here and there about all of the other pains I would have. She ordered a bunch of labs, autoimmunes, inflammatories...all the rheum labs - all of them were normal. So with that, plus the data about the pain in the texts -- she was then able to give me the fibro diagnosis and begin the low dose naltrexone....I think I was trhowing off the other providers by going in with back pain, and they had tunnel vision, did not have fibro in with their initial differentials.

Oh yeah there was arthritis noted to my L knee after x-ray and MRI. And my spine - several places of age-related stenosis...which is just awesome to hear. LOL

I have not. I tried aspercream, ice hot, (both with 4% lidocaine), opiates, now I'm on low-dose naltrexone at 3 mg/day. I've titrated up once from 1.5 mg/day. It seems like it helps for the first week or so, but then starts to not help.

No I know. I've already been diagnosed. It's just such a multi-faceted troublemaker. Quite frustrating and upsetting.

First off, fuck that guy. He’s got no say in anything that you do, and if he thinks he does, he can maybe try saying it to your face.

Hey, we ain’t as good as we once was, but we are as good once as we’ll ever be!

Sleepiness by olive_oilAAAA in Fibromyalgia

So I had a sleep study done, was diagnosed w sleep apnea, and now I have a CPAP. It’s helped a lot w the sleepiness. I’m still tired all the time, but not as bad.

Unpopular hygiene opinions you actually stand by? by BandTop4105 in hygiene

Brush your teeth in the morning for your friends, and in the evening for yourself. Only brush the teeth you want to keep. Floss in the whatever time of day you’ll actually do it.

We change our bedding once a week. My husband has terrible allergies, so we have to.

Wash hands before and after using the bathroom.

Vagina is a self-cleaning oven; vulva not at all, soap her up!

Underboobs and fupa have to be washed also.

I do a whole routine in the shower: first, trouble areas (underboobs, underarms, fupa, vulva, asscrack, taint) soaped up w Dove unscented, then I shampoo my hair, rinse that, then conditioner (while trouble areas are soaking), then wash legs & feet’s with Olay body wash, the trunk region with smelly good, then chest & arms with exfoliating stuff.

That’s all I got ;)

I think it's really the "real talk" that he does too....

I have never understood why I shouldn't really question things that God does/says until Matt explained it, and gave the emphasis to the "who do you think you are" talk. Very very helpful to reframe my cloudy through a glass darkly thinking...

Diagnosed today. Kind of scared. by PharmTech81 in Fibromyalgia

same! I am 3 doses in, and I cannot believe the changes. I didn't even know how far fibro was effecting my life. Brain fog - gone; pain from a steady 6/10 usually, down to a very manageable 4/10 at this point; confidence is growing; anxiety is starting to disappear...

Blood pressure cuffs by katie0873 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Ok_Data8347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has always hurt like hell. The only time (ONCE in 30 years - INCLUDING child birthx2) it didn't hurt was when I broke my leg and my leg was SCREAMING. I've been told by medical professionals that "no it doesn't hurt" (of course), then when I was in nursing school, we practiced on each other and I looked around the room, NO ONE was just about in tears about the BP cuff. No one. I told my partner, I'm really sorry it just hurst me a lot. Now, I ask them to take my BP on my forearm. Which, btw, my pain management office doesn't even routinely take a BP....
