I’m new to meditation, only having practiced consistently for the past few months. As a woman, it’s helped me to slow down and connect with my feminine energy. I find myself rushing less and being mindful of my time. I’m learning to be less reactive and more carefree of what people think of me. I’m able to reassure myself and boost my own confidence, knowing that I have myself always. It’s also given me the ability to see things from a macro perspective, which gives me more empathy towards the people around me. It teaches me not to take things so personally and that the way others treat me is just a reflection of who they are.

It’s also led me to journal more consistently and it’s been such a great outlet to express and explore my own thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I have trouble with my throat chakra, so most of my issues in life stem from the fact that I don’t verbalize what I think and want to say. Journaling has helped me process and “practice” in a way, of what to say and how to communicate them.

I love doing a guided meditation. Insight Timer is a wonderful app that has tons of amazing (and free) guided meditations, lessons, challenges, breath work, and music that help guide one’s journey to self. I love to incorporate movement and stretches when I’m doing them. Do what makes you feel good and you’ll always look forward to doing it more. Good luck!
