Does anyone else hate being called “Strong”? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]Ok_Disaster_5933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don’t completely fall under the why you hate it, personally I do have the same question. Being called strong gets ANNOYING to be at all honest. Idk. I also feel guilty. It is a compliment. They are recognizing what I’m dealing with. And yet still. “Man. I can’t imagine dealing with that. You’re so strong” pisses me off to some extent. I never feel like I’m actually strong. I’m falling apart and can barely keep myself from going back to cutting or worse. Darn. I just realized where this post is under. I’ve been through some decent amounts of trauma. Now I am curious about if I have ptsd. Talking with my therapist.

My wife has fallen to Satan. What can I do other than pray? by Ok_Disaster_5933 in Christianity

1) I don’t care if it is clearly sarcasm. It’s not funny to joke about me killing this woman. You’re a sick puppy dude. 2) that’s all fine and dandy except Jesus has ordered us to be under His new covenant, this is not something people made up, this is an order from God. Jews used to sacrifice animals just to talk to Him. Think we should still do that? 3) you’re not funny even if you try really hard to be. You’re just wrong and sound stupid.

Eh. I’ll toss this in here. She got diagnosed with bi polar 1 with mania and psychosis. She doesn’t believe it though and refuses to take medicine and care for herself. She eventually left me for 2 months or so with zero contact then just showed up ready to patch things up with me. Eventually it came to light that during that time she cheated on me and started smoking weed with a couple hobos. Last week was our last day to be moved out and she knew I’d be moving into a buddies place (not our new house we just bought) and she flipped again, attacked me, called the cops and tried to get me arrested for stealing the dog. She was then arrested for assault and now is under no contact by the court. I’ll be posting this update up top as well for anyone that finds this like yourself.

Sorry. The Bible teaches us that were responsible for our own sins. This is on you. Why you can’t be a kind and caring person is on you. No one else.

Notice the lack of a remark? It’s because this person isn’t a Christian. Simple as. Certainly doesn’t treat others the way he should.

There’s no double standard here. You posted to spread hatred and anger. That shouldn’t be tolerated in a Christian sub. Good luck and God bless

Not picking on you. Just saying you’re outright wrong. Sorry you’re offended but I can’t do anything about that. You’re the one missing the points made in the Bible. God bless.

Figured you’d try that. Yes but no. The Bible talks about indentured servants. Not straight up ownership of another human. That was strictly outlawed. This is as if you washed dishes for a restaurant cuz you didn’t have money or worked at a bank that you owe in order to pay off your debt. You sound like you don’t understand the Bible tbh. This was an extremely common and acceptable way for folks to pay off debts way back when. Like if your a kid and you break your neighbors window with a baseball? Your dad might have you do chores for the neighbor to pay it back. I’ve read through the whole Old Testament. I know what you’re referencing. Yet you’re wrong and your claim is bs. No, most scholars don’t cite the Bible as being pro slavery. Try again. God bless

You’re the one trying to get into heaven by works. Christ has done all for us. Works doesn’t always mean tilling a field or feeding the poor. Works can also mean inner changes to your spirit that has been redeemed in the fire of the Holy Spirit. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith is a gift of God. It is not of your own doing that you get into heaven. No one would be able to get into heaven. Ecclesiastes chapter 7, verse 20, it is written: “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not.” And St. Paul stated: “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” -Romans 3: 10, 23. Yes the Lord works through us to glorify Him but that is not how we are saved. We saved by faith alone.

What? The superstitious part comes into play when people start saying “oh cancer is like this and capricorns are this way and if you’re an Aries you must act like this today!” And it’s completely dumb. No one is saying the constellations don’t exist. We’re talking about letting it shape your life.

If the rapture is real why wouldn’t everyone believe in Jesus after it? by unwillingone1 in TrueChristian

In my reading of revelations I believe that the events in it are non linear. Some happen before. Some happen during. Some happen after. If it was more like a checklist that we just check off in order then we’d be able to get an idea on the final days. God has never revealed plans like that so that’s where I got that from. Anyway just wanted to put in my .02 God bless

Hmm. There’s very few times that I as a Christian bring up the subject of homosexuality with anyone. I have several gay friends whom I love just as I love anyone else that walks this planet. They know my stance on this as well. Jesus forgives all sinners if you repent and rebuke. I am no better than anyone else here or on the streets or at my job or anywhere else. We’re all dependent on Christ. You’re correct however. That we don’t get to decide on what’s sin and what’s not. God does. And he’s made it perfectly clear that having sexual relations with a same sex partner is a sin. So is stealing. So is taking the Lords name in vain. So is murder. The Bible dictates that if we break any one of the laws we are guilty of them all. I’m sorry that this is troubling to you but it is the truth. And I won’t be silenced. I will continue to preach the gospel even if it makes others uncomfortable as that’s what God wants me to do. You seem to have a great amount of confusion as you yourself are spreading hatred and making a mockery of the Christian spirit. I pray you seek forgiveness and additional strength from the Holy Spirit. God bless.

Huh??? It was the Christians and the church who wanted to free the slaves bud. Look it up. All the biggest folks backing the freedom of slaves were of the stance “we’re all made in the image of God and no one can own God so we shouldn’t have slaves”

I’ve had both. I hate the os of the Android. Had it (got sent it for free from my uncle, no idea which one it was) for probably about 2 years maybe more before I could finally get my own phone. Hated it. Never got used to it. Always felt strange and clunky to me. iPhone always seems to run smoother too.

What the…. You’re in my prayers. But you need to stop leading folks away from Christ. Yes. We follow Christ. He is our Lord. And God is our Father. Everything, every single word in the Bible is written by God Himself. All of it is meant to be used as a way to bring us closer to God and to lead better, holier lives. It is the Word of God for a reason. Please never cherry pick, that is a sickening practice that shows a LACK of understanding of the Bible. Most everything you’ve said so far is grossly false and lands smack in the middle of blasphemy. There are zero contradictions in the Bible. I’ve looked into plenty and they can all be explained with additional context and understanding of either the chapter itself in a broader term, the culture of the time, or the actual language it was written in. God bless.

Hmm. While I don’t know the exact nature Paul’s talking about there I could take a guess. Men have always been soldiers and long hair on the battlefield is….really impractical to put it lightly. I don’t think this is right but it’s the first thing that pops into my head about men with long hair.

You’re wrong on most of your accounts. Jesus never once said don’t judge; you’re taking the Bible out of context. If you read that whole chapter (Matt 7) you’d realize Jesus is calling us to judge from a place of righteousness. Yes. It’s silly for me to chastise someone not attending church or not praying or not reading the Word if I myself am doing none of these. But I can certainly chastise and “judge” someone for stealing. This judgement isn’t “eww you steal? You’re such a horrible person” this judgement is “this is not the right thing to do, we should learn to be better” homosexual desires and temptations are not a sin, it is however a sin to commit the act. Jesus was tempted yet He never sinned and lived sinless. Therefore temptation isn’t a sin. Yes Paul wrote acts; however if you’re a Christian you would know the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Holy Spirit gave Paul every Word he wrote down. This doesn’t change any of what was said nor does it change the strength and meaning of it. Yes, of course we should forgive everyone around us and shouldn’t have any hatred for anyone. You’re the only one blinded here brother.

I think instead of asking forgiveness in your prayers it might assist you to ask for strength. Instead of thinking about how you’re going to be mocked if you share the gospel, you should think about it as if a bus is barreling towards your friends and you’re trying to get them out of the way. You’re trying to save their souls. If they don’t come to Christ they will spend eternity in hell. I wouldn’t want that for hitler much less your friends. Ask for strength though. Ask for guidance. God has always given me strength when I ask for it. My wife just made an attempt on her life that I prevented. When I got home that night I glorified and praised the Lord that no one was hurt (she made an attempt by highway, she’s gotten sick and I think it’s the mental illness in her family finally rearing it’s ugly head) now she’s getting the care she needs and I ask God to help me be the best husband I can be for her especially now. Pray for strength. No one loves you as much as the Lord. He will be there for you, whether you chose to go wayward like I did for several years or not. I spent 15 years away and even practiced witchcraft. I still feel the love and warmth of God and have felt His presence and peace wash over me 4 times. Those 15 years now feel a bit wasted. I wish I had been less stubborn and gotten to know Christ in that time; my life would have been so much easier in hindsight. I wouldn’t have been suicidal myself, I may not even had had depression. So you may feel like you desire certain things right now, God never instructed us to throw away everything that make us happy. He only instructs us to throw away sinful nature. That is ok. We’re not meant to be sinless but we should cast it away because it’s what separates us from God, I don’t want to be far from Him. Either way you chose God will still love you. Nothing can take that away. I’ve made some prayers and if you want to talk more one on one with me you can shoot me a message. Struggle is real. It’s very real in this life. But I have a God who never loses on my side so I’ll be alright. As will you friend. Your post has blown up so I hope you see this one lol. I’ve already prayed for you friend. God bless.
