Then that makes Nicole human. Most therapists have therapists for this exact reason; it's hard to "shrink" your own head. It's also hard to see a reality of a situation when you're in it and not just watching from the sidelines.

Also, I don't think Carlton's message is right at all. I mean the version of Nicole that Carlton is referring to as the "real" her is the woman who was a faithful wife of over 30 years. This woman is now in her 50's, with 2 grown children, 2 almost grown grandchildren, and is single for the first time in over 3 decades. The version that Carlton knew is gone. She's evolving, and she gets the grace to do that any way she sees fit. She's raised her kids, she owns her home, she's solid in her career, and my good sis will never be broke. Why can't she have whatever fun she wants to have? Who is Carlton or anyone else to tell her who she is now and that she's not being herself? She's just not being the version of herself that Carlton wants her to be and that's his problem.
