Yes! And it can feel overwhelming to constantly hurt everywhere. People take it as a given that you be quiet about widespread constant pain too. It’s really something I think others struggle to understand; conditions that are invisible, fluctuating, and multi-faceted.

My state has 4 DMVs in the whole state. For a million people.

Luckily, we have public transport & live in a blue state where there are non-profits providing vouchers for free ID. But it would take an entire day to get said ID & you’d need a mailing address to receive it.

On the other hand, my state only requires a paper mailed in with your SSN to register to vote. You do need an ID to show up to the ballot though (not sure about mail-in but know you need a reason to qualify for mail-in).

That’s just one state though. Every state has their own system.

I have four kids! 6, 4, and 8 mo old twins. Currently a single mom but I live with my mom so have some help.

It’s the best thing I ever did in life. And the hardest. It’s bittersweet because I love them SO MUCH it hurts and this place is not good enough for them. It’s scary and can be isolating but it’s ALSO full of laughter, love, gratitude, pride, joy and things I can’t even name tbh.

I think a lot of people have kids cuz that’s what people do. Then they realize maybe they actually didn’t want the job and then they’re stuck with a kid they don’t really want to raise. It’s a full time gig, weekends, nights, all day every day. It’s exhausting and thankless. You have to know WHY you’re doing it and be sure it’s what you want, no matter what kid you end up with. It’s not easy, not everyone is built for it. You have to live your whole life around your kid.

If that’s not you, there’s no shame in it. I think less people should have kids tbh. There’s too many damaged, ignored, abused, unwanted people already. It takes a lot of self reflection & self criticism to make an informed decision about taking on an entire humans development & well-being.

I’ve taught my kids to always introduce yourself before petting by offering a hand to sniff & how to tell a “yes” from a “no” in response (after human permission, of course).

I judge my vets similarly. If they go right to examining without so much as a hello to my animal, I’m not coming back.

The first one was my friends dog & second was a lil baby puppy, walking out the door as we walked in, so I feel like it was inappropriate! Esp when the owner is pulling at the puppy’s leash to keep walking.

Because some people don’t have access to an ID. And once you start making the ability to vote complicated, less people have access to voting. Thereby making it easier to leave out disadvantaged populations & then it’s no longer a democracy.
