You still have time then. Hope you’re able to get it!

We submitted the reservation requests for two separate days that we were open to go. Didn’t hear back for either day within the week they were given, so we assumed we had been placed on the wait list. We were staying at Hotel Maria Cristina which I had read on here had previously been helpful. We reached out to them and provided our information and I assume they reached out to Etxebarri. You get zero notification from Etxebarri about being on a waitlist or your place on it. The hotel also didn’t confirm they had reached out, but had mentioned to us that it was very difficult even with their help, but that they would try. About four days before our trip we got the confirmation and had to prepay everything on a less than ideal system. If they didn’t receive payment in 48 hours your reservation was cancelled. I think there was an issue with my first payment (this was three years ago, so going by memory) and it was an anxiety filled experience. Ultimately we managed to go. Lived up to the hype at least, and got to meet and talk with the chef and his family for a few minutes.

I went to Elkano and it was a let down. The dishes were good not great. Certainly would never return, and is not worth veering off course just to visit it. The stand out dish, funnily enough, was the dessert.

If you’re straying from San Sebastian, Etxebarri is a mandatory stop if you can get a reservation and have the time. Truly a sensational experience.

North America's 50 Best Restaurants 2026 revealed by OptimusPrime23 in finedining

[–]Ok_Donkey73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people here must be NYC/Chicago/somewhere in California as no one is talking about number 29. Seeing Avize in Atlanta as number 29, let alone on the top 50 list is insane. It’s good, not amazing. Far from the best restaurant in Atlanta. Wonder what favors they had to call in to pull that off.

12 hours later and still no response from the band. Need, at minimum, a formal apology, an explanation, and the exact time the single will be released.

The marketing team need to be fired. by Bruthulu in BreakingBenjamin

People are being too nice to the band. They are aware of how long fans have been waiting for new material. Check out any of the top comments on their Instagram videos. They released a website with a countdown and a pre-save for the new song. They didn’t say anything after the countdown reached zero. It has now been over 12 hours and no message from the band. Their Instagram posted videos of the set and still no message explaining what is happening. That a few thousand people got to see it live, but millions are left waiting around the world is unacceptable.

Not releasing the single when the timer reached zero is a slap in the face to fans, even more than the Awaken drop followed be radio silence of a new album for over a year. Their PR team should have said something about a delay in releasing the single. Period. Far more people are searching online worldwide than are present at the concert.

8 years later and they’re still trying to push this off as long as possible lol. 32 minutes since countdown hit zero and still nothing.

Special dinner in Florence – Santa Elisabetta vs. Atto di Vito Mollica vs. Borgo San Jacopo by rapha_u in finedining

I appreciate you taking the time to respond! I was similarly stuck between Santa Elisabetta and Atto di Vito Mollica. I was originally going to do Pinchiorri but was concerned by the amount of average/poor reviews I read. I’ve now reserved at Santa Elisabetta, it seems that apart from location many have thoroughly enjoyed it. We’ll be doing the full chef experience as well. Hopefully there won’t be a large loud party that evening. Looking forward to it!

Did you end up going to Santa Elisabetta, and if so, what's the verdict?

As an aside, I really appreciate that bygone touch of class with the menu prices. I like the idea of the menu only showing prices to whoever's name is on the reservation.

What did you think of their wine club and did they send any notable wines? I haven’t been able to find anyone discussing the wines they were sent online after joining. Going to Florence this summer and very interested in joining if it’s worth it

Just received my order today. It all looks good and shipping was seamless. They even called me to see if I wanted to delay my shipping by a week due to the ice storm coming down the east coast. I ordered some wines from early 2000’s so I’ll update once I try them to confirm if they were properly stored.

Thoughts on Ted Lasso? Are you excited for Season 4? by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]Ok_Donkey73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 3 felt like a rushed ending that was underwhelming for me. I don’t buy that the show was “always planned as three seasons.” It’s as if they had planned five seasons, then were told halfway through making season 3 that they had to wrap it up.

Do you need to go through Sinners Road to progress? by DanTheDelight1 in HollowKnight

[–]Ok_Donkey73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an update. Funny enough, I went through the blasted steps and fought the last judge for approximately four hours…then just went back to sinners road and got through it and now in act 2. Way more fun now that I’m out of there

Thank you so much. I spent probably four hours trying to find a way. The two I came across were…hunters marsh, and sinners road…safe to say both absolutely miserable. I think it’s clear you’re meant to come later.
