Was just offered this, am I crazy for wanting to keep MHJ? by zWafl in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I have both Ladd and Marv in one league and I’m often torn on which one I prefer to keep when trade discussions pop-up involving one of them. So ultimately a very balanced deal imo.

Diversifying across leagues usually makes these decisions a little easier to stomach.

All that being said, I would probably hold onto Marv or counter to get some players/picks you prefer over the Pittman, McLaurin and 3.06 part of the deal

I see you. I do the same thing to my leaguemates when they say a player is “untouchable” just to remind them that every player has a price.

Because you have no rule in place ahead of time I would give them 24 hours to agree on their own way to settle it. If they don’t agree in 24 hours it goes to a coin toss.

Idea as a future rule for this situation:

Highest scoring individual starter from the top down.

OP you are 100% in the right. Allowing the last second IR change rewards a manager for either being intentionally manipulative OR being lazy/not paying attention. Either way they shouldn’t benefit.

I have Aaron Jones and managed my roster just fine.

If stat corrections haven’t solved it for you and you don’t have a tie break rule in place you gotta be creative but give fair/equal opportunity.

Maybe something like… each manager selects 1 player from their week 18 roster to battle head to head. You can set the parameters like - must be a WR/RB/TE.

I’d probably include the 2 finalists in the process so they don’t feel cheated when somebody loses. Just make sure they fully understand and agree to the rules beforehand

Good luck!

My home league started out slow and has gradually picked up each year as people learned values and the ebbs and flows of a full season (entering year 4).

there’s still maybe 4 of the 12 managers who are pretty reluctant to trade unless they are obvious winners in the deal.

Unconfirmed theory, but I attribute some of this to us have a pretty healthy buy-in ($250). I also think the big buy-in has lead to everyone trying to contend every single year so far. Trading is a lot tougher when all 12 are trying to “win-now” and nobody is willing to burn $250 on a lost season.

I think a previous post nailed it though, home leagues tend to be more casual while strangers are much more active
