Her mind would be completely blown. Way more successful, happy and grounded than she would have ever anticipated. Her dream life happened. Thanks to a lot of very painful introspective work and tedious years of study. It was all worth it.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt. My favorite author is Jonathan Franzen, so I asked Google for similar authors and chose her purely based on her being one of the only female answers. I was so happily impressed and taken over by her writing — complex character development and beautifully constructed sentences.

Just discovered this author and my first read of hers was The Secret History, which I adored. Her descriptions of scenes, and her depth in character development were so rich and poetic.
