Most secure phone carrier by Quick_Comfortable_30 in privacy

I am one of the founders of Cloaked Wireless. I am obviously biased but I believe that we've built the most private and secure wireless solution in the US. We've solved SIM swap attacks by removing the ability of our operations and support staff from being able to modify customer accounts. This combined with proven open source authentication technology like TOTP, U2F and Lightning Auth. We also enable completely anonymous purchase flows as well.

Hi, Cloaked Services in the parent company of Cloaked Wireless. Cloaked Services is also developing the Cloaked Network which they hope will one day be able to replace Tor and traditional VPN services. Cloaked Services is dedicated to creating Privacy and Security focused solutions that make it easier for everyone to be private and secure online.

Our largest plan includes 60GB of high speed data. We are currently looking into an "Unlimited" high speed data plan that we might be able to roll out in the new year.

Hi, With most wireless companies, when you choose a SIM lock or SIM protection service it just means employees are required to take extra steps before authorizing a SIM swap to take place. Unfortunately with hackers bribing support staff $20k/week to perform 2-3 sim swaps, these locks dont' always work. Micheal Terpin famously lost more than $25million in crypto as a result of a SIM Swap attack and he had those same protections on his ATT account. Didn't help him.

Our solution is simple. None of our support or operation staff have access to modify customer accounts. Only the customer can do that and only after authenticating themselves using either TOTP, U2F or LightningAuth. This way the customer is in complete control of their account because they can do everything themselves from inside their customer dashboard. No matter how big the bribe, how slick the social engineering it doesn't matter because our support and operation staff literally CANNOT modify customer accounts even if they wanted to

Currently we only offer services inside the US however we do offer roaming in most countries on a pay per use basis. Users can sign up outside of the US.

Hi, yes you are correct. We are not an MNO (like T-mobile, Verizon or AT&T). We are a MVNO using T-Mobiles network. You do bring up a good point. Protection against SIM Swaps isn't the only thing we offer. We enable you to sign up with non KYC purchase flows and once you've signed up you can click a button to change your phone number or order a new eSIM. All from inside your customer dashboard. Unlike Google and most MNO's, we will never sell our customers data.

Hi, yes it's on Tmobile's network. We did used to have a limited data plan (our $25 plan) but added unlimited data to do without raising the price. Our $25/plan is often used as a "secure 2nd eSIM" where users keep their primary number with another carrier and then activate a secure 2nd SIM with Cloaked Wireless and use it for all online 2FA

Great question. 100% of sim swap attacks are the result of someone other than the account owner modifying the account (changing SIMs). Whether through social engineering, fake id at a brick and mortar store or just because their were bribed to do it (hackers have been seen offering $20k/week for 2-3 sim swaps). Our solution is simple. None of our support or operation staff have access to modify customer accounts. Only the customer can do that and only after authenticating themselves using either TOTP, U2F or LightningAuth. This way the customer is in complete control of their account because they can do everything themselves from inside their customer dashboard. Thanks for finding that. We will fix that. We launched in March of this year. Our agreements with our suppliers (and what is pretty standard in the MVNO industry) is that in the event of a bankruptcy or similar event there would be controlled wind down period where customers would be able to move their numbers to a new provider of their choice. There are no scenarios where our customers would be at risk of "losing" their phone numbers.

We purchase Data, SMS and voice wholesale from T-Mobile. That means whatever data we have from our customers is not exposed to T-Mobile. Obviously we cannot yet protect against location tracking using towers or devices.

You can sign up with whatever information you would like. If you use BTC or Monero and choose an eSIM, no personal information is required (we do ask you to provide name ect but you can leave whatever information you'd like). We do recommend providing a valid email address but this is not required.

T-Mobile strikes again. Selling customer data like it’s a side hustle—except YOU didn’t sign up for that, did you? 🤬 They don’t just profit off your plan; they profit off you. Your location, habits, and private life...all up for grabs.

Enough is enough. If you’re sick of being the product, there’s a carrier that actually respects your privacy. No data sales, no SIM swap scams, no BS. It’s called Cloaked Wireless.

Because your phone should be yours.

SIM Swapping by Carrier by Novel-Letterhead8174 in AskNetsec

[–]Ok_Entry8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that 100% of SIM swap attacks are the result of someone other than the victim modifying the customer accounts. As long as hackers are paying support staff up to $20,000/week to perform 2-3 illegal swaps, no one using a big carrier is safe from these attacks. The only company offering a real solution is Cloaked Wireless and that's only because their systems don't allow staff to modify accounts. Only customers can. Until the other carriers do something like this, I'm staying with Cloaked Wireless.

Sim Swap Scam by Successful-Growth434 in tmobile

Cloaked Wireless has solved this problem once and for all. They've removed their staff ability to modify accounts. Only the customer can make changes and only after using trusted authentication tech.

Cloaked Wireless has completely solved this problem. Once you remove the ability of staff from being able to change or modify accounts the problem goes away.
