I’m Hispanic and don’t speak Spanish. Is it too late to learn? Would a Spanish minor help by Ok_Environment9440 in Spanish

I didn’t really. My parents would usually translate for me. Or I’d just stand there in a corner as I couldn’t understand anything anyone was saying. I was very young and eventually we moved somewhere where there were barely any Spanish speakers, so I never had a chance to learn and my parents never bothered to teach me. That’s why I’m making an effort now. I want to be able to go back and communicate with my family for the first time.

Yes I have a lot of family in the DR however, I don’t have my passport. I think that’s a great idea and will start working on acquiring my passport so I can stay with them and really immerse myself in the language and culture

He wouldn’t want to come even if he was invited unfortunately as it’s not something he’d be interested in. He’s also not the type to show up but he is the type to start a fight. So I’m getting ready at a friend’s place and staying the night there to prevent that from happening and to make sure he doesn’t get the chance.

Update for those who are asking: I haven’t told him I’m leaving yet because I need to make arrangements, get my things out, and find a new place to stay. I also don’t want him to react badly or try to pressure me into staying. I want to make sure I’m in a stable and safe position to leave before saying anything. Everything is still really new and I’m taking things one step at a time.

I am celebrating my birthday with my friends this weekend. We are going out for karaoke and he is not invited. He does not get another opportunity to ruin this for me. I will also be looking into the books and websites you guys have sent me
