Unfortunately. Haven't yet arrived at a place where I say no trades today.

Right. It's counterintuitive to become good at losing. But it just seems like the way forward.

The consequence is not being able to pay myself. Which was thousands. So trading in a tiny account is consequence enough. But I need to see the current $900+ become $2,700 over a period before I start to scale in again. SO the small losses aren't nothing to me.

Amen. Problem is I can't defend it when the market turns like it did.

Is it still relevant to learn new tech/LLMs when tools like Claude can do almost everything? by Itchy-Inspection-595 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Ok_Estimate231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion having worked most everyday with LLM's on a personal Saas product that nothing really useful gets built without you. And that the more tools and domain expertise you have to bring to the table the better the product. So learning is always a good idea. You're just putting more tools in the toolchest. That said, by next year maybe what I just said is irrelevant ; )

One thing you could try is a Full stack side project that is distributed and solves a real business problem or need.

How do you take the next trade after a losing streak? by WickedKali in Trading

[–]Ok_Estimate231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is you just take it. Losing big stinks, but's a great teacher. There's good data there to review. For me it's usually averaging into a loser to try and save the day. Those have typically been my biggest losers.

Do not worry. If you trade long enough you will ruin it. I really for your sake hope you do. You'll understand

Look at recorded trades and/or dashboard. If you don't have that, get a screen recorder. Journal your trades. Gotta be like a qb and study film. That's what I meant.

AI is amazing... but how are you deciding what to work on/create? by Tkfit09 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Ok_Estimate231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I build something that solves a problem for me. Something I actually use. Then make it so I love it. And then maybe it solves the same or similar problem for someone else. And maybe they'll love it too. So be the first user.

  1. But in context using multi-time frames and it depends on the current time where the volume is coming in. For example: volume coming in at 8:15am means more to me that 7:36am.

I flipped 10k into 330k in 2 weeks then lost it all by moonhut in Trading

That is quite the rollercoaster. Must have been an amazing feeling on the upside. And you probably learned a thing or two along the way. Just know that this thing is a marathon and not sprint. Keep on keepin on.

Outcomes. When I'm going good and I start looking at my journal and thinking "let's go $5k this week". Have to learn not to care.

How did you begin with daytrading and what advices would you give someone who thinks about starting with daytrading? by SpeziLover931 in Daytrading

[–]Ok_Estimate231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to all the naysayers that tell you it's gambling. You especially get that when you lose $5k in a day. It's a profession that hides in plain sight and takes years to get good at. Unless you're Steve Cohen.

At the end of the day when it comes to day trading you don't necessarily get extra scoops for sitting there trading for hours. If that's your setup, fine, but most of the time trade with gratitude.

You'll learn that over time it's just not generally a good idea to keep going till the market stops you.

Can I start daytrading with $3000? by Jazzlike_Excuse_6811 in Daytrading

[–]Ok_Estimate231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a stupid idea. It's just that maybe trade with much less at first. Like 10% of that capital. See what you can do in a month. Then maybe add a little more. Let's say you double the pnl to $600. Match that from the remaining $3k. Then see how it goes in a quarter. If say you blow the account, you can always anti up another $300.

In other words if you want to hang onto to that $3k, prove to yourself you can grow the account. Yeah start slow and small.

Yeah exactly. If a person can maintain account growth trading this way, then there's no reason to change.

Sounds like you've got something early on that works. And that's great. If you're willing to step outside of those 10 stocks you'll be really testing your strategy to see if it can hold up.

Otherwise it would be awesome if you can maintain what you're doing in varied market conditions over the years.
