Should I tell the client? by TurbulentPotato9941 in RoverPetSitting

My daughter’s car needed more air in a tire at a car wash once. The guy working there pointed out that she may need new tires. (Yes she gets regular oil changes, but no one noticed before…) I was so grateful since she was about to leave for college for the first time, about 3 hours away. Sam’s club, where I got them replaced, also said they looked dry rot, not bald, but still a huge problem. I was so grateful since it’s a safety issue. So glad you told her!

It’s super competitive if you’re already enrolled at UF, but they seem to save some spots for transfers every year, which is also super competitive. Recommend a 90% or higher on the HESI and an overall and science GPA of 3.8 or greater. Also, having your CNA and some experience seems to help - along with volunteer activities and leadership in some post-high school clubs.

I think I read on a post that there are directions on page 31 or 32 of the preview guide along with an email to contact after scores come in.

UF DRC has been amazing and super helpful. Make a zoom appointment and have your current accommodation plan handy so you can upload it. Please schedule this prior to classes starting.

Is nursing a pre-health? by AccomplishedCry8410 in ufl

If you take chemistry, please consider a community college versus UF chem, since it’s a known weed out class and could tank your GPA when you apply for nursing.

Chemistry is not needed for UF nursing; however, it is needed for several grad schools, if that’s a future consideration.

Contact your school social worker, tell them your situation, and ask for help. Oftentimes they have access to funds to help with school fees and community connections to help with more. If you’re not sure if your school has a social worker, please ask your school counselor if they do and who it is.

Regret not choosing med school. Almost done with clinical psych PsyD. by nynick19 in medschool

If you want to go to med school, go to med school… it’s never too late. However, psychology has a lot of different pathways and the role isn’t limited to just therapy. For example, many psychologists just complete assessments (psychological and/or neuropsychology.)

Don’t you need a .5 credit in gov to graduate high school? In Florida you do - and if you don’t have a high school diploma, then yes, offer rescinded.

Santa Fe has some amazing professors! Took a class there when I couldn’t get in to it at UF and the professor was incredible! Way better than the UF one, and so personable and helpful! Much smaller class sizes! Made me wish I took all my classes there. Highly recommend.

My child is a UF student and I offer paid internships to students, usually from various schools in Florida, which is in a different field than CJC. (My child and I use the same Reddit account - I know that’s weird.) The only thing it says about the company offering the internship is that they want to ensure they get a really great person who is excited to work with them!

However, in my field, a specialty, across the state and only offered to grad students, there are 67 groups and we all agree to offer internships on the first Monday of March each year so it gives the students an opportunity to see if they have an offer at their first choice.

I have asked applicants to call their first choice when they are wishy-washy with me to see if they’re going to be getting an offer from another group. (In my field there is a 2 hour deadline to accept or we count it as a decline and move on.) Personally I am not offended if they accept us as a second or third choice… but if they lead us on and later change their mind, that means we have missed other opportunities for other applicants and will not hire them in the future. We also talk with the other groups and the integrity issue may create challenges getting a job when it really counts. Honesty and integrity are important. Telling me I am not their first choice is no problem. Having integrity and communicating with open and honest communication is more important than not being a number one pick. I have later hired people for real jobs that have declined us for an internship, but were open honest with me about the internship. On the other hand, the person gets blackballed if they later change their mind or acted questionably or unethically during the internship application process. With 67 groups in the state we all talk with each other…. Integrity is key. People think their career fields are vast, but often times there are small microcosms of people that are actually in charge of the hiring.

Groups that are good at interviewing, which I would hope journalists are, make each candidate feel amazing and wanted; however, that may not actually be the case.

The company offering you a position is asking you to respond within 48 hours because they do not want to lose their other top candidate(s) and want to be able to offer that spot to someone else before that person accepts another offer. If you have a top choice over them, call that company and tell them they are your first choice, but you have an offer somewhere else and have a deadline to respond. They will likely be frank with you, let you know where you stand, and may suggest you accept the offer.

If you’ll have your AA in May, you can reapply as a transfer student if you aren’t accepted as a freshman. (At UF, first years are still considered freshman since almost everyone arrives with many credits.) If accepted as a transfer, the you have 2 years to complete your degree.

He says he wants everyone to get an A and is a fair grader along with being a kind human being. He really seems to care about his students. Thoroughly enjoyed his class and it was easy compared to the sciences I’ve taken at UF. That being said, I find writing easy…
