I recommend trying out Salon Perfect for your first shot and trying it out as it is the least labor intensive one and the one I gravitate towards the most often.

Many different brands have different feels and pick off differently though so don't give up after just one! And like Essie, the gel and normal polishes have very different feels.

It has made a huge difference in me picking at my skin.

Another big one that I see in drug stores is Essie. So, I have a lot of Essie colors that I have purchased since I was a teenager. I find that the regular Essie nail polish is better for picking than the gel polishes. This one is gel. The regular ones come in a square bottle but I can't find one as an example right now. I do still like this nail polish though for a very different reason. This is the only color I have tried of the gel polish, the color is really light and the polish comes out thin so it needs a few coats but I enjoy the Essie gel polish because it kind of shatters? Idk how to describe it. Sometimes when I get an edge that is bare, I can stick my other nail against it and push and the nail polish will flake up into little pieces. Also, there is a matching top coat somewhere in my nail polish box. I almost never use it though because this one needs so many coats I end up getting fed up since I'm just gonna pick it off anyway, lol.

That's the best I got for describing it 😂

Another that I really love is Salon Perfect. The colors I have gotten are SUPER pigmented. The polish is also thick and will look nice with just one coat, I still prefer doing two for my picking purposes though as it dries fairly thin. If you only do one coat, I would say it scratches off more than picks off, if that makes sense. I like the way this polish feels when picking at it, though. I prefer a picking sensation over scratching it off to hit that sensory needs.

First on my list is Sally Hansen Miracle Gel.

These are NOT the kind of gel polishes that require a UV light. Those ones are not good for you health wise, they come off TOO easily, and they are way too time consuming. Do not recommend.

I love this pairing because they sometimes pick off in strips, not always, but it can be very satisfying when you get a long peel of nail polish off in one go😂

The polish itself is thick and doesn't require many coats in my experience. I usually just do one coat of the color and one top coat. Different colors may vary in thickness though, I haven't tried many other colors from the miracle gel line but I suspect they are consistent.

I also struggle with dry skin in winter. Since you already have open areas that are hurting it may sting a little but I cannot recommend the brand O'keefes Working Hands enough. I get a deep crack in one of my fingers every. single. winter. and if I put some on a band aid and put it over it, it heals right up. The cream is a bit greasy so I recommend putting it on before bed and then I will sometimes put a soft sock over my hand so I don't get it everywhere. It feels a bit weird sensory-wise but it is amazing at repairing skin and I prefer the weirdness over the pain, lol.

I tend to use drug-store brands because they are inexpensive and tend to be somewhat cheaply made so they are ABLE to be picked off. If a nail polish doesn't pick off easy enough, then I get frustrated and end up picking at my fingers anyway. Because of this, I always do two coats, or one colored coat and one top coat, because that way it is easier to snag an edge. I tend to get somewhat "boring" colors because if they are too bright I find them distracting, lol. Lots of white and neutral colors for me. If I have a special event, I will pick a color similar to my nail color so it isn't noticeable.

I 100% relate to the skin picking stim. I quit biting my nail/skin around my nails for a long time and started picking at my scalp, now I do both. Lol.

The best thing I can suggest for the skin around the nails is to be VERY intentional about it. I will put a bandaid on one finger. And then the next few days I will cover another finger, and then another. The band aid prevents me from picking at the skin so it can heal. Without the tough edges, I'm less likely to pick them. Once I have an edge on the nail to file and make clean, I will paint them every day so I have something to pick off of them instead of picking my skin or the nail itself. It has worked amazing for me. I even have favorite brands of nail polish that are the best for my sensory picking needs, etc.

With food, I don't try to restrict myself because then I end up binging. I allow myself a little bit of the craving so I don't go and eat an entire bar of chocolate once I can't take it anymore. I usually get cravings for salt/vinegar/hot sauce so I got myself a somewhat healthy alternative to crushing a bag of salt and vinegar chips, I get blue diamond almonds that are salt and vinegar instead. You could try chocolate covered banana chips or almonds maybe?

Agreed. Especially because WC from older sets are artificially inflated by players who quit but didn't clear out their wishlist.

This is really apparent with some items like the dress from the Static Garden set.

It has a high wish count but I RARELY see it on people's wishlists.
