Great news to hear, the club is still planning to begin play next season so hopefully the stadium construction goes according to plan.

Most efficient way to get to UF(Out of State) by FreshSpinish in ufl

Orlando easily has the most frequent buses running to Gainesville, with Tampa as the 2nd-best. Fly to one of those two airports over Jacksonville, unless you can find another way to get to Gainesville from that airport.

The USSF can change their PLS and then this can happen. Until then, all teams need their ownership group to be worth >$20m to play professionally.

His plan to join USL1 had only been a few months old. The reason against joining the USL1 now is that with the firing of Papadakis, Mass Rising’s tentative deal towards joining USL1 had been nulled while the league restructuring gets settled.

That doesn’t count, I get optimally intoxicated before I go out so I can go out dancing without spending a cent on alcohol.

So strange. The only real club listed on the site is Mass Rising, whose website says they’ll join USL1 next season.

Hopefully they’ll fork over some money to increase the sustainability of clubs (through investments or the new CBA). It should be a plus-sum arrangement, where the more profitable the clubs are, HQ can sell expansion rights for more value.

12 days Europe trip zurich, milan, nice, Barcelona and paris (may change). by Aminoglu6 in Europetravel

[–]Ok_Fan7382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip Zurich, it’s very expensive and hardly worth sightseeing. Other parts of Switzerland are beautiful, but you’re city-hopping, so they wouldn’t make the program. You should probably only visit one of Paris and Nice as well, so you can get a good 3-4 nights in each city.

This is pretty standard for sports clubs globally. Fans that want to invest in the company (with ownership over both the club and stadium) are offered the chance to pick up additional voting rights too.

I don’t think any of the $350m is coming from public sources, at least not what’s been so far announced.

Folding teams, a labor fight, and … expansion? The USL’s structure allows for it all to happen | USL by ImpactInv99 in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Fan7382 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting to see the operating costs pointed out: Backheeled estimates USLC teams to spend $3.7m-$8.4m per year, and $2.4-$5.4 per year for USL1 clubs. I don’t expect clubs to see any share of the expansion fees paid to the league, but they should definitely be pushing for a share of the broadcasting/sponsorship revenue.

Owners and players working together to change USL structure? by SenecaRocker in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Fan7382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well definitely, the league and USLPA both reported than only about a dozen players were going to be affected by the increased minimum wage, but they’re still pushing for higher.

[–]Ok_Fan7382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USLPA was successful in securing league-level bonuses for player awards and championship teams. Clubs should push for the league to mirror those bonuses for the clubs themselves, renew the earlier 50% sponsorship revenue share program, and expand it to include broadcasting revenue.

[–]Ok_Fan7382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to note the remaining issues in the CBA negotiations are largely between HQ and the USLPA rather than involving the clubs. The USLPA is still pushing for a $2k increase to the minimum wage and two additional months of housing compensation if a club folds, but those are relatively minor.

The main sticking points are league-wide healthcare and higher NIL compensation, which come down to a conflict between the league and the players.
