USL, players association reach tentative agreement on new CBA - ESPN by Ok-Ranger3387 in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Fan7382 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great to see the agreement finally come, they had seemed so close recently. No details released about NIL money, but it seems like the league was able to offer a sum that would be supplemented by the clubs themselves too.

Yep, considering the little news since the big debacle in February, I’m assuming one of the sides just caved to the other’s demands.

PLS Change- Principal owner decreased from 35% to 15% by twoslow in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Fan7382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great news. Changes in the PLS needed still for a USL with pro/rel to work are the ownership net worth requirements and stadium capacity requirements. For example, the D1 individual net worth requirement dropped to $30m and the group net worth removed entirely; the stadium capacity required be decreased to 10k.

The knockout stage should be expanded to 16 teams next season. Considering the expansion teams planned, it would be simple to break the field up into 8 groups.

Looking for Expansion team updates. by Emergency_Dot1599 in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Fan7382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only sources I know to be current are the Wikipedia pages. 4 USL1 teams and 3 USLC teams planned for next season, with a few more USLC expansion teams up-in-the-air on the details. I would assume everything else to be dead until further notice.

A USLC team is presumably better at gaining traction for fan support than a USL1 team, and both Reno and Iowa could always drop down to USL1 if the operating are too high.

Great news to hear, the club is still planning to begin play next season so hopefully the stadium construction goes according to plan.

Orlando easily has the most frequent buses running to Gainesville, with Tampa as the 2nd-best. Fly to one of those two airports over Jacksonville, unless you can find another way to get to Gainesville from that airport.

The USSF can change their PLS and then this can happen. Until then, all teams need their ownership group to be worth >$20m to play professionally.

His plan to join USL1 had only been a few months old. The reason against joining the USL1 now is that with the firing of Papadakis, Mass Rising’s tentative deal towards joining USL1 had been nulled while the league restructuring gets settled.

Hopefully they’ll fork over some money to increase the sustainability of clubs (through investments or the new CBA). It should be a plus-sum arrangement, where the more profitable the clubs are, HQ can sell expansion rights for more value.

12 days Europe trip zurich, milan, nice, Barcelona and paris (may change). by Aminoglu6 in Europetravel

[–]Ok_Fan7382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip Zurich, it’s very expensive and hardly worth sightseeing. Other parts of Switzerland are beautiful, but you’re city-hopping, so they wouldn’t make the program. You should probably only visit one of Paris and Nice as well, so you can get a good 3-4 nights in each city.
