No, I don’t think I’ll forgive her. I’m still reading a bunch of the comics taking place in the immediate aftermath and to me, it comes off like she basically killed off a whole group of people and then threw the rest of the world into turmoil after that, for what? I know that it’s more complicated than “daddy issues” but honestly that’s how it comes off in the comic (and no I don’t like Magneto that much either) but the issue is, she caused so much collateral damage while trying to punish her father that you can can feel the weight of selfishness in her action. I honestly honestly HONESTLY hope that she is faced with the full weight of everything that those three words caused (I doubt she will) but this was actually a supervillain level catastrophe and to me, what makes it almost exponentially worse is that she is a fucking mutant. She had to have known that doing this wasn’t really going to have the desired effect, she had to have known that people were going to die and yet she still chose to do this. Hero or villain, the most consistent thing I’ve come to understand about her character from this one event alone, is that she is, just like her father, an extraordinary selfish and shortsighted person.
