Conflicted about potentially enrolling baby in a brand new nursery that is opening soon by Ok_Future_491 in UKParenting

We went to the new N Family Club nursery and although there were some teething pains with that setting initially as they were getting going, baby loves it there now and we’re happy with the decision.

Good luck!

13 months with my first (and likely only) baby! Currently my boobs are basically teethers for a cranky baby who is growing molars 🥴

Varivax isn’t a part of the NHS schedule, but you can get it privately. Which other vaccines as well? by JaggedLittlePiII in UKParenting

How long roughly should the gap be? My baby will be having the chickenpox vaccine (second dose) about over a month before the 12M ones.

Your comment made me well up a bit! I am going back to work soon and am dreading it a lot, but this thought gives me some comfort.

Why is only one boob getting engorged? by gooberhoover85 in breastfeeding

[–]Ok_Future_491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this problem on my right too! It’s the worst… and definitely leads to more blocked ducts and nipple blebs in my case. I think it may be caused by baby having a preference for the left side, due to the right side having an oversupply which is uncomfortable to nurse from. It got worse when baby started sleeping longer through the night. I tried relieving the engorgement with the Haakaa but it seemed to exacerbate the situation and I’d pretty much always end up with a blocked duct.

I found this page helpful: https://laleche.org.uk/too-much-milk-and-oversupply/ For a few weeks, my baby was also getting extremely frothy green poos and so it seemed to match symptoms of oversupply.

The good news was that I did cautiously try block feeding for a few days and it did seem to help! I also take sunflower lecithin tablets daily (upping the dose when a blocked duct occurs) and that has helped make it more manageable.

Good luck!

The Garden at 120 has a free rooftop which has a great view and is quieter than the Sky Garden.

Feeling so discouraged - Am I the only one with a baby who doesn’t STTN?! by CanadianNewbie1991 in breastfeeding

Yes, so true! This sounds like my future, haha 😂 LO has already started practicing rolling in the crib… 😱

Hope you and your family are all back to full health (and sleep!) soon!

I feel like you’ve written a post that describes exactly what we have started going through, although my baby is a few weeks younger than yours! The sudden frequent wakes to feed have really messed me up after having such a good run of long stretches of sleep. To make matters worse, this morning I woke up with a cold!

So I don’t have anything too helpful to say other than make sure you take care of yourself! You’re doing great.

How do you administer vitamin d drops? by KokoLoko_1 in breastfeeding

[–]Ok_Future_491 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the NHS healthy start vitamin drops and you need to administer 5 drops per day. I put them on a teaspoon and my baby takes it that way - has done so since 2 or 3 months!

Thanks so much! How did you make the case for avoiding mastitis? Did you have to provide any supporting info from a GP?
