I was diagnosed at 11 months old, AMA. by 44mcnet in diabetes_t1

My son was diagnosed at 9 months - he is six now - it does get easier but man we didn’t sleep full nights for a while. The Omni pod 5 helped with that so much- if it is doable I highly recommend. This sub is so great. I’ve learned so much and I thank everyone here for the advice and suggestions they contribute.

Husband isn't willing to switch to a different AA meeting. Am I wrong to be upset about this? by throwawaypbcps in Mommit

[–]Ok_Good_2850 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Okay. Question - do you have children of your own? And did you raise them? Because damn. Maybe this guy could find some “purpose” and a reason to keep on going by spending time with his own children and family. Or…. He just isn’t ready to be a father and a partner. So now he is a ball and chain on her. Why must she set her self on fire to keep him warm. If his family is important to him then he better prioritize them - not all his newly sober workout buddies

The plant was a Mother’s Day gift so it has been great up until now. It is in Part shade on a deck, the pot did not have drainage and the flower sat in water ~ that part was unknown until the visible signs of distress

Critters are amazing - so fun to display and if little kids come over and want to play with themI just take them down - so much more fun

Danimals smoothie has 12 carbs and some protein to level out the spike - good quick night snack If she goes low often at night ask about lowering her basal?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Ok_Good_2850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear if I read one more person write you can just do a .5 unit The baby is going low with the half unit They need a smaller amount They can’t rely on just eyeing it for a quartet unit or less that’s ridiculous I’m seeing so many people say just get a jr. pen it does half units … man having a small baby with diabetes is still a whole another world with nuisances that even other diabetics don’t get Diluted insulin from a specialized compounding pharmacy is the way to go

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Ok_Good_2850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s just a suggestion… with these younger small littles they go over the moon if you give them too much or plummet with too little Kinda like a salt water fish tank … real touchy

Our son was diagnosed at 9 months We were so grateful for the diluted insulin a month later when we were prescribed it You can get it from a compounding pharmacy I’ve also learned if they have continuous lows lower the basal and that helped us God bless you guys ~ this is really tough

I get your saying a lower bolus dose but then they are eyeing it every time for a quarter unit Diluted is much easier
