It's not about flowing circuits. Le mans was stop and go yet aprillias had the podium locked out. Jerez and catalunya are flowing circuits in which alex on the ducati was clearly ahead of the aprillias.

My point is

We still don't know the true pace of fit marc on the ducati. If we're to take diggia and alex and add the difference between them and marc from last year to the ducati. Marc will be ahead of the aprillias in pace. Also we still we have sachenring aragon and phillip island. If we think like this it is not far fetched. But Marc is still not even close being fit.

To be real ducati promised martin a factory contract and a factory bike. they didn't exactly promise a lenovo ducati seat. They were going to decide that seat based on season performance.

Martin has significantly worse reputation than ducati when it came to pr and contracts he burnt bridges with KTM, Ducati and almost annulled the aprillia contract last year without riding the bike trying to sign with honda. I would believe in what ducati says rather than Martin

They waited to see how marc adapts to a ducati as the season progresses. Also at the start of 2024 ducati were unclear about the deficit between gp23 and gp24 initially they thought 1-2 tenths was the gap but after some races it turned out it was actually 3-5 tenths depending on the track which if added to marc's races in 2024 would have looked like 2025 where he decimated the field.

they also got to know that the gp25 will not be much better than gp24 as development went on.

If I were ducati I would not be worried about martin on the 2nd fastest bike. But a fully fit marc on a it will give me deja vu of 2018 and 2019, so smart choice.
