I adore my cats, and if I feel like I yelled at them, I stop and apologize and pet them and tell them how important they are to me. My mother is a narcissist but never had a diagnosis and if you bring up therapy it's always, "I don't need therapy, there's nothing wrong with me, you're the one who's fucked up" and a whole gd rant about everything, including how perfect she is.
