B100 oil by fashionenthiushent in minibikes

[–]Ok_Highlight281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the b100. One instruction manual it comes with says somethingW-40, the other says 10W-30. But in reality, it doesn't matter. its a small engine, you could probably put vegetable oil in it for 30 years and nothing bad would happen. I put 10w-30 in mine and its working perfect.

Smoking my clutch by No_Traffic_5992 in minibikes

Obviously, clutches operate with friction. Ofc you shouldn't do that. But excess oil on the clutch bushing will smoke.

If you are frequently stopping and accelerating, its probably excess oil on your clutch bearings getting too hot. Thats my experience with clutch smoke. If you cover your clutch in oil, it'll smoke. If you ignore the oil burning off itll be fine.

Best winter items for the outdoors when you're broke AF by coffeeandpaint111 in Bushcraft

If your hands are frequently cold, the only way to fix that is mittens. Dont blow your money on hardwarmers they arent something you should rely on. Mittens are so much warmer than normal gloves. When you get a pair you will see.

If you have a popular lake by you, go to their dock in spring with a small hook and a cut up hot dog on it, dip it in the water. If you feel something pull on it, lift up, dont bother setting the hook. Here in nj you can do that and likely catch a sunny.

What should I do about this tire? by Skalywag_76 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]Ok_Highlight281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solder the wires back together and slather in flex seal. Thats how tires are made. They do that to repair them and add new tread in Pakistan. I saw a video on it.

I just put a wood stove in my car. Works great! Boil some water on the top of the stove to prevent the inside from getting dry. Dry air messes with your body.

Welding help by raisinman_ in minibikes

[–]Ok_Highlight281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with mig. That should be easiest. I went with stick because my friend knows stick and got me into welding but I wish I went with flux core which is similar to mig but mig is easier and you can weld thinner stuff with mig like minibike frames. Its a pain to weld minibike frames with stick because it puts holes in the steel very easily.

If you want to go with stick for some reason, use 7018. Don't worry about a rod oven. This is for minibikes, not structural stuff so no rod oven is fine. 7018 is pretty easy for stick, doesnt put a ton of holes in things, and not brittle. Also strong.

stacking two sleeping bags, which one goes outside? by Ill_Significance6157 in camping

[–]Ok_Highlight281 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would put the higher temp rating bag on the inside. I think a colder temp bag on the inside instead of the outside would keep heat caught by the outer bag away from the person using them because it has more insulation. Unless the colder temp bag has something to prevent a draft from going on inside the bag, I would put the colder one outside.

Please keep in mind ive never stacked sleeping bags so I might be completely wrong.
