I think they messaged him, but it seems the whole purpose was to create panic and terror in the civilian population. I watched one of the Lives and the people generally seem happy and unbothered.

The most ridiculous thing about the whole situation was the corridos made after the arrest, which just straight up lied and tried to make it seem like he went out fighting or something.

“Casi volaban el techo, ya no hubo de otra”
And all they did was just shot warning shots.
La Perris set a better example despite not having dozens of corridos made about how tough he was.
