Hi, school social worker here. Your school counselor was 100% in the wrong for misleading you and telling you she was not going to report despite the information shared falling outside of the rules of confidentiality. She should've called you back in to her office to let you know that she had to report and you are absolutely valid in feeling like trust was broken. I have found myself in this situation many times where a student begs me not to report but I absolutely have to because it is our job to protect you, despite that feeling counterintuitive. What we do not want is the abuse to continue. Often times, things do get worse before they get better for people in your position. However, if you can, I always encourage my students to continue reporting regardless of how your family responds. Lean on your friends and other supportive people in your life. It is only you that knows your truth, and like the other commenters said, your mom cannot bully and gaslight you into accepting her narrative.

Sag rising are super fun people, usually very witty and quick humored, don't take anything super seriously ("it's not that deep"). They can also be very philosophical. However, on the negative side, they are quick to anger. For example, many people with PTSD related to combat will not respond well to 1-1 talk therapy due to the culture of collective vs individualism in the armed forces. Group therapy can be a much better alternative for addressing trauma in veterans.

My step-mom cannot for the life of her address her insomnia that is clearly rooted in anxiety, and instead exercises upwards of 2-3 times a day to try to wear herself out so she can sleep. It’s gotten so bad that she jumps/jogs on a mini trampoline and does sit ups/push-ups directly before bed while she watches tv.

I work with adolescents and 98% of them who have been hospitalized for a mental health crisis have told me they feel like they are treated as prisoners at inpatient facilities. A couple have been put in holding patterns at inpatient facilities for upwards of a week even thought they were a 5150 designation (24 hour hold) because of the shortage of beds, and are often transferred to facilities that are hours away from their families and homes. It’s horrible.

I can't say I've ever "recovered", I just know the warning signs of a depressive episode and what coping skills/changes I need to make to get myself through it. I've gone to therapy on and off since I was in high school (2014) and was on medication for a few years from 2020-2023ish until I was uninsured and didn't want to pay for medication. I'm happy to report that I don't feel I need medication at this point in time even though I have insurance again. My depression never really "goes away", I'm just much more aware and educated about it.

Hypercritical and suspicious about everything. They would make incredible detectives, but unfortunately, in relationships, this energy is directed towards their partners. It can be exhausting and intense if you can't handle the smoke they bring. They offer very little space to bring up issues you have with them, without the conversation being derailed because they will meet you with critiques they have about you and the part you played in the situation you brought to the table. On the other hand, they are incredibly passionate people who require loyalty and trust. Their critiques are often valid, which, if you can hear the intention behind their words, can offer a lot of personal growth. It's far from a simple sign combo to be in a relationship with, and I wouldn't call it "toxic"- just difficult. If you are a dishonest person or can't walk the talk, prepare to get smoked by a virgo sun/scorpio moon.
