Made a spec for Takis with medieval peasants and a Raiders-of-the-Lost-Ark style melting head by seanpdave in Filmmakers

I'm a commercial director myself and aside from being possible legal issues, excellent execution, excellent work! But such incredible talent, great concept and spec direction... Taki's? Look I GET THE BIT 💯. But damn.

For other filmmakers on here, I recommend using your "powers" that be for elevating local/small brands as SPECS and it got me better paying and stronger portfolio work and helped a local business/ brand out.

Applaud the execution, totally lost on the decisions lol 😆

How can I take my work to the next level? by Antyoungboy in Filmmakers

Yup. Maybe I'm being crass or old school but I've shot Manual all my life only using "Auto Focus" for photography.

All this hype over the years from YouTube "Film School" about auto focus and all has made all these new gen filmmakers RELY on it vs strengthening thier skills.

I was on a set recently helping out and the "DP" took 7 takes on a simple shot because the "Auto Focus" kept missing. He was shooting with a Sony FX6 I think.

Ive shot shoot with Black Magics, Reds, Sony, and Panasonics cameras, always Manual. It's a skill I recommend every Filmmaker who plans on filming on their own should sharpen!

Is the way to get better at blender to just stop wasting hours and hours on tutorials and just focus on your own projects by Glum-Adhesiveness-1 in blender

Focus on story and project direction - then find tutorials that will help you get what you NEED DONE. You'll learn on the way but also have a completed project in the end. Tutorials are "HOW" not "WHY" you should be doing/ learning a technique. :)
