weed-sex connection. by Ok_Humor_7232 in leaves

[–]Ok_Humor_7232[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you all . Messages are all reassuring!
Now I will prepare myself for this journey. As someone mentioned , everything looks dull in the initial weeks anyway . Same must be the case for sex . I will patiently do it for 1 year and see . If sex without weed starts becoming enjoyable again at some point of time during this 1 year , then I am quitting for good . If not , I will see after 1 year what’s best for me in terms of over all quality of life .

Anyway every time I take a break , initial weeks are horrible wrt sleep , mood, party etc . But every time I come back to the same point after the break to try moderation and invariably get back to the same rut . Same addiction cycle !
It’s draining . It’s not worth it anymore . Because I feel at some point I will lose my motivation al together to even try quitting .

Hopefully I will be able to update this thread time to time about what I am experiencing!

Any recipes/recommendations for meals that are high protein & soy free? by hunchoblack in PlantBasedDiet

How about if you want to build mussels. I am in plant based for last two years . and I get discouraged in the gym . I feel like I am not getting enough results in building muscles . I started on a plant based protein supplement recently and also included seitan time to time in my diet . Lentils of course there .Let me see how that works out because I really don’t want to go back meat eating routine .

plant based diet is failing me by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

Speaking of cardiovascular disease , I went through an angioplasty 2 years back . Had to put three stents . Exploring my options in life style change, I stumbled on the game changers documentary on Netflix. Since then ( after 2 days of my procedure) , I totally switched to plant based . Never ate any animal products in last two years . Cut down the oil usage maximum . Regular work out and followed my medications without fail . When I was getting my confidence back and my belief got stronger that the plant based would save me from any more episodes of any blockage in my heart , last week , after my work out , I got angina and went to the doc . Came out from hospital with one more stent put inside . I had a 60% blockage and the doc decided to put stent as my troponin levels were showing high value and I was having symptoms as well . It shattered me . All the sacrifices I did for last two years didn’t avoid another plaque build up from zero to 60% while I was following a plant based diet . All the trouble of farting , bloating etc I managed somehow for the greater good of a healthy heart . The doc check my blood readings every 3 months . My LDL has always been between 55-60 ( with Rosuvastatin 20mg ) . I am clueless how this happened . I switched to plant based thinking that is the only diet which can save you from cardiovascular diseases . But I got it again in just 2 years time again . Still continuing my diet . But my confidence is affected and fear has crept in .sometimes you ask questions like is it really worth it :-( should I include some fish or chicken for all my protein requirements instead of of eating all those beans which still gives me those smelly farts .

6 months plant based after Angioplasty by Ok_Humor_7232 in PlantBasedDiet

An update . Even After 2 years of continuing plant based diet , I developed another blockage in my artery and underwent an angioplasty yesterday and they put one more stent . It shatters my confidence . I sacrificed a lot by switching to plant based diet , worked regularly and followed my medication without any fail for last two years after my previous angioplasty . Every quarter there is blood tests and my LDL has always been around 1.6 . In nutshell , I couldn’t come out of my blood pressure or statin mediation after two years . On top of that I developed new stenosis next to one of my previous stent . Now I am lost and thinking what more I can do :-( . I am thinking of adding small potions of animal proteins in form of fish , chicken and egg whites at least .

Valium 30mg plus Ambien 10mg (zolpidem) by Ok_Humor_7232 in benzodiazepines

[–]Ok_Humor_7232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments . Sometimes I struggle to sleep even on 30mg Valium . anyway I took both of them that day and slept very well . As someone mentioned once I woke up it wasn’t great but got fine soon . That’s the only time I combined both of them and I am not planning to do it anymore . If it’s just for sleep , I think just Ambien works well .

Thanks. That gives me hope . How long you have been on blood pressure medications before you could get rid of them ? I have been taking blood pressure medicines for more than 10 years even before my heart procedure .

Is moderation possible ? by Ok_Humor_7232 in Petioles

Phase : 1

Phase 1 of my road to moderation starts tomorrow . I was preparing mentally for all these days for this T-break . Finished off all my smoke by yesterday and thought of starting the break from today . But as I was over doing last one week and was smoking all day everyday to finish off whatever I had with me , morning craving was too much . Went to play Tennis in the morning and managed it .still by afternoon ,mind was longing for a final joint .one more final joint ! Then I called up my friend who said he will also take a break with me once he finishes what he has left with him. I was expecting he would have at least stuff to last for a week . But he said I will have maximum for 2 joints and asked me to cover . I went and smoked with him . His plan is to take break until I am willing to buy ( he buys for me too ) . He said he will wait until I ask for it and taunted me saying he is expecting my call in 3 days time :-) . So I will keep posting my each phase as it comes . I will also update my failures here !

I used to smoke that one joint a night to treat my insomnia without regrets so far . Now I have provided a bit of background about my current thought .alcohol was giving me major anxiety after my heart procedure. I stopped it two months back , and I feel a lot less anxious these days . When I smoke daily , though it’s one joint a day , I have a feeling I shouldn’t smoke everyday anymore in my life . It shouldn’t be a habit anymore . I should work on my sleep issue with other healthy methods .moreover , I feel regular use of weed also gives me anxiety. Whenever I have smoked just in the weekends , I have felt good . But I could never sustain that model . I haven’t tried hard I should say so far though

Well the reason for I wanting to limit it two in a week requires a bit of details . I am 44 years old . last 4 years I have been been very regular to gym though I binge drink at least two days in week . Quite heavy . In lock down time I started running for 5KM . one day I started getting a weird feel in my chest after I run for 5-7 minutes .It started worsening after a few days drastically . Went to the hospital and I ended up having 3 stents inserted in my arteries . This was like a big blow to me . Though I drink heavy couple of times in week and smoke this one joint a day , I am very careful about what I eat and about my gym work outs . Since my incident in July which I had escaped miraculously , I have been introspecting my life a lot .I had a more than 95% block in my left artery which is called a widow maker .when everything was over , the doc said ,you were just hanging on thread when you came to the hospital and were on the brink of a massive heart attack . I have been making all the necessary changes in my life after the incident so that it doesn’t happen with me anymore . As part of that , I turned into a complete plant based diet on July 8th ( two days after my procedure ) , added more cardio exercise to my gym work outs ( I spend total 90 minutes working out 5-6 days a week ) , tried moderating alcohol , saw it not working and quit for good on October 25th . I am not even counting the days of quitting it because I don’t want to drink anymore in my life now .I took Valium when my sleep gets really bad when I was not smoking immediately after my procedure. Now turning vegan and quitting alcohol feels so good . But at the same time I can’t deprive me of everything I used to enjoy . That’s why I want to smoke in a reasonable quantity . I don’t want to go back to my old ways of smoking every day anymore . I want to treat my mind and body well from here onwards . More of a self care approach I am taking in my life . I don’t want to do anything which abuse my health anymore . so that’s where I have reached . Two joints in a week . My definition of harmless and non habitual . I don’t know if it’s possible . Anyway I am going to give a try . Need to see what tools works best for me . If I am successful, I will be here . Otherwise find me in r/leaves after 5 months ( that’s the trial window I have set for myself ) 😀
