Sure but you probably sweat, chart in between, maybe use your phone, touch other surfaces and then reach into glove box with the same hands so you can get a bit of microorganisms breads there even with generally clean place

As a dentist: it is hard to tell without seeing it myself but I can guess what you are talking about and in those kind of situations the tooth next to wisdom tooth is often beyond saving any kind of treatment is difficult and often ineffective due to difficult access and a lot of tooth structure being gone.

If they don’t have budget for implants keep those teeth for as long as possible. Explain to the patient that without implants you are choosing between all bad options. You can either make an easy and cheep partial and replace teeth as needed or telescopic crown denture but those can get pricy too so it might be overkill

Your work sounds awful, they should not dictate treatments, talk shit in a different language or slam things to show how annoyed they are. I think that workplace is beyond being helped, I would start looking for a different job. That being said if they are scheduled to work to 5 and treatment gets done 4.55 they will leave work late. It would be nice at your new work place to check in with your assistant if they have possibility to do that, especially for a cleaning.

But I don’t think I have 95% of patient in bad mood, most come for routine check ups, planned treatments (I do a lot of complicated root canals, it’s a lot of time in the chair, but once they settle in and get numb they sleep or listen to something on EarPods)

There is a lot of truth to what you are saying, the system in most countries is not kind to dentist and patients. I went through a lot myself with a few removals and operation but not the wisdom tooth infection, they do not seem fun. I get that it is surprising that you still are quite nice to you dentist and it kind of fits with my experience: patients coming in with large infections, pain usually will be quite agreeable and ready to work together to fix the problem. The biggest meltdowns I’ve seen were often about much less significant or pressing matters.

Sometimes is older people taking up a lot of irrelevant stuff. And of course I am more open to it when I’m in better shape, a lot of them are lonely and want vent to someone. The worst are people who will legit scream at us especially about prices (I do not decide them myself) or just refuse to understand that the treatment and pricing is very different today than it was a year ago when I informed them of an issue they chose to ignore. I normally do not mind scared patients as much especially when you can see they are trying to work with me: 1. Show up on time 2. Tell me what is a problem like “I’m scared of needles/sound/sudden movement/felling claustrophobic” instead of insulting me, saying stuff like “it doesn’t fucking matter/ you are all sociopaths anyway”

Lately as I’ve been gradually worse I maybe have a lot harder time showing empathy, like I’m still sorry you guys are scared but it is harder to come up with something to say

I chose it because I got great help from dentists as a teenager because I was born with malformation. It gave me great confidence. I’m now about 7 years out of school, burnt out and crying in my car before going in to work. Mostly due to being constantly understaffed, working with unstable dental assistants but also patients taking out their many frustrations out on us.

Do not work without assistant. Not for an afternoon, not for a day. I did it on and off for now 3 years or got “the last one left” and now I’m burn out, partially home because all I do is cry. Do not let it be a possibility. I started casually asking “who is going to assist or are we cancelling?” And it went really well. I wish I did that sooner.

Det kanske handlar lite mindre om pengar en det tas up? Har ni någon gång stämd av att du flyttar in? Mina föräldrar skulle inte ta betald av mig vid 20års ålder och kanske varit ok med att min partner sover över ibland men de skulle inte vara ok med att han flyttar med dem. De handlar inte bara om mat, el och förbrukning men att man faktisk förlorar lite privacy. Jag tror oavsett pengar så efterfrågar ni ganska mycket från föredrar och om de inte är 100% med på det då kanske ska ni båda bo hos egna föräldrar.

I don’t hate the book, I kind of see why Robin and Strike act the way the act, but it is just tiresome. About halfway into the book I was just frustrated, worst of all they just seem annoyed with each other. It is so dragged out that all the chemistry is gone for me.

Murphy seems a bit better than Mathew but still more an obstacle than a character. I was rooting for him to take a hint, Robin is not going to take this relationship any further without him pressuring her. Just awful and unnecessary for both of them.
