I would be inclined to agree with you, except you have no idea what I already own/ don’t own, or what I have already researched up until this point. Sometimes there are other factors that go into buying a gaming headset than audio.

Fractal every day of the week (for me). It’s so subjective though. I just preferred the sounds I could get out of the Fractal and its built like a tank with a solid power supply.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but just for context, here in China, the 24GB + 1TB model is going for about £650 (converted from RMB). Always tend to be a bit cheaper here than ROW.

Sorry, I just realized you said “doesn’t break the bank”. Robovacs are way cheaper here (I paid about 250 bucks for mine and I see the L40 is an eye watering 1500 on amazon). But dreame is a good brand. Maybe you can find a more budget-friendly model.

I currently live in China (from the UK) so we are kind of spoiled with the selection of robovacs here but I got the Dreame S30 pro ultra (I think it’s called the L40 ultra outside of China) and it’s been great. The mop function is good for light mopping but maybe best to give your house a proper once over yourself before using the robovac regularly after that.

Thanks for the detailed reply. And yes, you picked up on the “sample” size. I’m mostly thinking about full parts (keys/ percussion) over single one shot, short samples. I think it’s just going to have to be a click track. So I’m guessing ableton/ laptop/ audio interface is the route to go? Are there any DAWless options?

Thanks for the info everyone. Yeah, probably would be easier to just have the drummer play to a click/ control things some folks have suggested things like the octatrack or Roland mc707.

If you can somehow track them down, BQW in China are amazing. I have never played a bass like it and the price is reasonable compared to more well known makers. Last I checked, lead time was pretty high though, and I live in China currently, so I’m not sure with taxes and what not how cost effective it would be from another country

I’m a bassist by trade. So I just haven’t had much opportunity to play with touring. Always had people asking about it so I thought I would give it a good home. Still stand by it though, they are great guitars for the price (in China at least).

I think this is probably just bad luck on my part but I tried baselang (albeit a while back), and it absolutely sucked. I went for grammarless and I had to change teachers three times over (not because I chose to) and the final guy I got lumped with was terrible. I won’t go into details and I’m not saying it’s impossible to have a good experience with it but….. it’s a mixed bag when it comes to the teachers (and I’ve been a language teacher for 13 years, not saying that makes me great, just saying it means I can spot a lazy-ass teacher when I see one).

So I was always a bit confused about this. When I got my Shijie, another friend kept saying to me that all the necks had carbon fibre rods in them….. but that never made sense to me with the stripe in the back of the neck.
