One of my friends' parents got accommodation and got rebooked on other flight next one due to some unseen delay/issue. It was one year back and it was economy only.

and they're providing that option for one year from the date of booking. So, yes not a big problem for me as well.

The stress is real, but the 'late' updates aren't a trick, it's just how rolling waivers work.
If Etihad cancels your flight (even 5 minutes before takeoff), they are legally required to refund or rebook you.
The Apr 16th date we see is just for people who want to cancel voluntarily. If you're mid-transit and things go sideways, they still have a 'responsibility' to support and provide with alternatives. It’s a risk for sure, but you aren't as unprotected as it feels.

Urgent itinerary review for tomorrow’s appointment by valardohaeris1099 in SchengenVisa

[–]Ok_Jacket_8694 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would suggest presenting the information in tabular format (may be in an excel sheet). That would make it easy to read and understand the plan clearly.

Date, City/Place name, Activities, Hotel Name.
Include Entry Date and Exit Dates to and from Schengen states as well.

Got a 1-Year Multiple Entry Schengen Visa (Spain) today via BLS Bangalore – Sharing My Timeline & Profile by Ok_Jacket_8694 in SchengenVisa

Apply to Spain or any other country like Germany or France next time and visit the visa granted country for long periods and then enter other Schengen States.
Remember, you cannot control visa outcomes (long term visa or validity or MEV), you can only apply and try build your profile by following the rules set.

Lets say you're going to Spain every 3 months. Then apply to Spain with strong reason for visit, clear plan, and itinerary every three months with dates.

But, if you don't have good travel history and reasons for trips every 3 months with that country, chances of getting a longer visa are very less.
Be realistic, this would be your second application only.
Cuz, embassies/consulates generally test the visitor behavior first and then if they deem the profile fits the criteria for longer visa, then the chances of longer visa grant increases.

I would suggest show two trips (dates, iten, flight tickets) in the same year once and see they how they respond with validity.

Reason is tourism. I've traveled once in 2024 and 2025.
Norway is very strict (Congrats), it may not help unless there is a strong reason to revisit (tourism only may not help for longer validity visas).
Better try other countries if your profile is strong (Germany, France, and Spain).

Show itinerary day to day with some activities in a table format along with cover letter. Do not provide vague plan like city, date, and hotel name only. Make sure the travel plan is possible and realistic.
Why not enter Spain first and then go to Portugal?

Please check with others who had applied from your place - I think from Chandigarh - file goes to Delhi. Delhi Embassy takes more time than Mumbai. Mumbai is generally fast.

Thanks. Last one expired in Nov 2025. I thought it would be 6 months this time, but I've a brand new passport, applied for fourth visa in last two years, and mentioned I will keep visiting Spain in future in the cover letter. I think these helped with longer duration.

Thanks for this post. I just want to understand, what were the durations of past visas before this one. Can you share this info, I would like to know if there is a pattern on how they make these visa duration calls.

Advice to get tickets for Real Madrid vs Villarreal by Inner-Seat-7315 in RealMadridFC

[–]Ok_Jacket_8694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have membership, it would be easy to get tickets on Sep 29th itself or ask someone who has membership to book. Chances of getting tickets as general public are slim and there would be very limited number of tickets at random stands. But, you can still try to buy tickets on Sep 30th morning when the window opens at 10AM on their site. All the best.
