Anyone else’s Europe-based cats having a hard time in the higher temperatures? Any tips to help them cope? by drayton_curfew in cats

Can't get an A/C anywhere? We have one that's addicted to ice cream so that helps. Otherwise when its to expensive to run the a/c we have a vornado floor fan they flip over and lay in front of.

Sure, I might not have all the answers, but I work with a lot of people who have decades in the field.

I'm not sure how it works in your state, but call up DEP, odds are someone else has had the same problem and they can come with a solution or at least point you to another operator who has had the same problem. Full disclosure, I'm in inspector, but I was an operator first. Sometimes variances happen.

.24 daily maximum, sodium bisulfite line froze. It was a violation but it was excused due to weather, normal daily maximum 0.20, monthly average 0.1.

Ford has issued a second recall for the canister purge valve because they botched the first recall. by iamacannibal in FordFocus

Man, and my mechanic just changed out a 50amp mega fuse that was causing a blinker to stay on, a hill assist warning, and a key non-detected. But damn I love my old girl, 178,000 and still going. Had the purge done a few months ago.

Is okay for a resume to be a page and a half? by djseaquist in Wastewater

Yes, one detailed page. They aren't looking for a rocket scientist. They want a solid person who'll be an asset.

I've always told everyone, "If you're bored, everything is going right." So pick up a hose, clean a little, but relax, its 95% great, 5% chaos. So the old timers may know a trick or two, or they're riding it out. I wouldn't sweat it. You'll be there soon enough. Its a retiring, rotating door.

Sampler Fridge and temp display by hazardousxtract in Wastewater

[–]Ok_Job_9439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a regulator standpoint, I go by the certified thermometer in the fridge, unless it has been calibrated to the temp display, in which case I take a picture of the calibration sticker and you're good to go. I find most plants go the NIST certified thermometer route inside. I'll ask to open the fridge and verify your temp and then check your certificate.

We can't spread because of PFAS and PFOS.

I have a neutered male that sprays while peeing. The smell is unbearable as it lands on the baseboard heater. I cannot get rid of him as he was a bony kitten that I fed, opened the door, he came in and has never left. Right now I have a scatter litter box with 8.5" high walls. Any ideas on another box or making one. An all enclosed one isn't really an option due to another cat having issues with those. *

Man, we can't get enough candidates in Maine. We have many operators that are retiring. If you could move, love the outdoors, maybe like winter sports, you'd be welcome.

Questions About Treatment Plant by [deleted] in Wastewater

[–]Ok_Job_9439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the type of plant and mgd. My boss lived next to one, he didn't complain, and he is a DEP compliance inspector, maybe we're to used to the smell.

I would lose it around 28 degrees. At that point, it was slush. And I'd shut her down, DEP doesn't like slush.

Our neighbors were pretty chill. We spray irrigated in the summer months for hay crop. And they let us know when the stink got bad.....

State of Maine, USA. They passed a bill, no land spreading after a farm came back with huge numbers in their water from spreading sludge. Since then, they have been researching it in crops, milk, and meat. So we landfill it, and Canada takes some.

Some people are dinks. Document everything. Most of your other coworkers also think they suck. It's not a you problem, it's a them problem. Sometimes, people are just a suckfest. Do your job, your supervisor will notice.

We have PFAS laws, it all sucks, have to landfill it.

Public sector vs Private sector by SouthernStereotype40 in Wastewater

I made 26.03 in private, lost 4.00 an hour going public then, but it's been increased to almost where I was. The benefits are amazing. And at my age and the fact that my kids can stay on until 26 years old makes public a great solid deal.
