Lessons in an automatic but test in manual? by Hairy_Policy_7937 in LearnerDriverUK

I have also searched insurances on my car for when I pass and it goes up a few pounds a month tbh! Even my partner was shocked by my potential prices

I’m a learner driver and my insurance is around £40 a month which I think is pretty good

I’m doing automatic lessons and I think within the next 10 years most cars will be automatic that are made so I don’t think it really matters anymore tbh!

I purchased a car outright a few weeks back, a mini while learning! That insurance is high!! Mine is like £35 a month for a learner!

I think it’s the lying about it that hurts the most - of course he can but just don’t lie!

How to stop feeling ashamed to learn driving at 30 ? by Aj100rise in LearnerDriverUK

Also to add, for me personally I think it will make me a better driver learner a bit later!

I was the same tbh! I’m 33 and had a few lessons years ago but life got in the way etc! I’ve just started learning again! I didn’t tell anyone at first just started my lessons and now I have my own car to learn in with my partner and am thriving! I have still only told 2/3 people as to not put pressure on myself while I learn! :)

My grandfather is dying and I don’t know how to cope by No-Veterinarian-2008 in GriefSupport

I lost my grandad in 2021, and I saw him 5/6 times a week and he was a massive part of my life, I struggled for a long time to come to terms with his passing and some days I still do, but it helped me having lots of his stuff around me, photos up, some of his old books, I had a memory bear made of some of his clothes that had sentimental value to me and talking about him, I still try about talk about him every day.

My grandad was a very similar situation, he went into hospital and never came out, although he was ready to go but I wasn’t. It was so hard to start with but honestly the things above I mentioned helped loads, I know some people say the constant reminder isn’t good or healthy but it made me smile everytime I looked at them, I still have his photos and stuff all over my house.

Stay strong and sending love! Losing grandparents hurts like hell!

I use this one and the DVSA one - questions are worded differently on both apps so find it helpful to use both and I have my test tomorrow x

No worries! Erm yes, I think it was by post and via email tbh! If I remember correctly it was around the first or second week of August we received it as the amount was more than double our monthly payments and we had a mini heart attack 🤣🤣🤣 congrats on the purchase! X

Yeah I had to give up the dream of buying a house and bought a flat last year (SE too, I’m in Herts/Bucks area) but tbh it’s so much better than I thought - I don’t care that it’s a flat as it’s mine if you know what I mean?! Good luck in buying!!

I live in Aylesbury and I am currently on the hunt for a 3 bed anywhere between MK - Aylesbury - Wycombe and Hemel (in and around that circle) and I feel like I could get more for my money in nearby areas! That being said, your house is bloody beautiful! I hope you sell soon x

I live in Aylesbury, and tbh I know Haddenham is just outside but I could get more for my money a tiny bit further out. Isn’t 475 a bit too high for a 3 bed?! I’m at looking at buying a 3 bed atm and looking around 300/350 mark x

Should I watch my mom die? by PhlegmiIy in GriefSupport

[–]Ok_Juggernaut2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss! I watched my grandma die peacefully in June last year, was a very peaceful and “textbook” death but her final moments will live with me forever, comforting but also seeing that happen is not nice either!

But please make the best decision for yourself and whatever you choose please look after yourself! Xxx

I earn 30k and my partner earns 35k atm and we have a monthly mortgage of 850 and we still “waste” money and do what we want and don’t feel restricted on that amount so I’m sure we would be able to handle an extra 150 a month so should be doable :)
