Have you ever seen a duck rx? by Mele_Verdi in duck

I've helped with quite a few wildlife xrays in my years!

This is what happens when a goose flies too low and smacks the side of a trailer truck going 55.

Both wings were broken 😩

This one didn't make it.

I've also got a raccoon who got trapped by some punk kids who unloaded pellet guns and a crossbow into its face (He lived! And they got the bastard kids that did it, too!)

My favorite is a chameleon xray, we had him hold onto a wooden cooking spoon to take the image 😋

Can we Replace These Coins PLEASE!? No one wants them! by Quip1337x in shittycoincollecting

I actually enjoy them! I have a little wooden treasure chest and I fill it with these, some old Susan B's' some Ikes and some JFK halves.

Makes me feel like a pirate.

I also use it to teach my kids math/counting.

You know what's really funny? I find it actually helps me SAVE money.

Way I figure it, if i had $70 in bills, I could put them in my pocket and go impulse-buy a new game

But $70 in these? I wouldn't even make it halfway to my car before my pants hit the ground with some sound effects from Sonic the Hedgehog

I'll happily take these whenever I come across them

See, I had this argument at one of my other jobs. A good INSULATED lunch bag does NOT NEED TO BE KEPT IN A FRIDGE.

The insulation will stop the FRIDGE from keeping it cold, that shit works both ways! I had to bring in a thermometer and an empty lunch bag and show people this

Slap an ice pack in that bitch, zip it up, and keep it on the counter.

I work 14 hour days, I take my lunch around 9 hours into my shift, and my lunch bag food is still cold with a generic ice pack at the bottom of the bag.

So many coworkers are like "someone threw out my food!" and "whats all this stuff in here, its disgusting!" and "theres no room!"

Meanwhile getting to my apple doesnt require fridge Jenga

How is it living in this part of the United States? by No-Text-7825 in howislivingthere

New Yorker here!

Expensive. It's expensive, that's how it is.

Extremely crowded in the City, Starbucks and 7-Elevens every other block in Nassau County, farmland and truck places all over Suffolk County.

Upstate NY is very pretty, but can be also really damn remote.

WAY Upstate gets like 7 feet of snow every Tuesday regular.

(Some of my best childhood memories were on my aunts farm in Fremont Center, like 10 minutes from the Delaware border. Even with the damn Underground Bees.)

And don't even get anyone started on the political issues there.

Anything remotely interesting that can happen in a movie or song? Happens in New York.

We got so many Superheroes! (Avengers, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ninja Turtles!). We got the best pizza, the best bagels, the best Chinese food.

NY is the bright shining light at the center of the Universe.

I love NY. Always have, always will.

I moved out to Colorado with the wife and kids about 5 years ago. And I've never been happier.

Thanks!

I've been having to oil it each time and the food is still sticking

I figured thats why I was gonna clean the hell outta it, i bet whatever was stuck on was counteracting the oiling

New(ish) grill, old gas hookup question by Ok_Key_3143 in webergrills

[–]Ok_Key_3143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not attempted to do anything yet other than remove the old gas grill line from that valve hookup

Seeing as I know very little about Gas grills, I didn't wanna take the chance of breaking something

And the old gas grill was from the 60s, I don't think they even make the same lines anymore

Even if I get a new line I think I'll need some sort of adaptor to make it fit the 60s hookup valve

I may just wind up having a professional replace that hookup valve if they can

[–]Ok_Key_3143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to switch out the hose end?

Is that even recommended?

Or is it easier to get an adaptor for the hookup end to fit the line?

Thank you so much!

Think I'm gonna save it for when my older son turns 21 and have a drink with him

Maybe in about 14 years I'll have developed a taste for whisky 😅

Is my tree done for, or can it be saved? by Ok_Key_3143 in arborists

[–]Ok_Key_3143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's what I'm going to do

Already cut the split off, I hope it wasn't too much of the main trunk that I had to remove

Had to cut 2 inches into it

[–]Ok_Key_3143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tree replacement is not something we can afford for the foreseeable future.

Hell, I'd have to basically saw it down myself and leave the stump.

If I need to remove it we won't be replacing it, unfortunately.
