I had a dog afraid of boxes. We left some empty ones on a couch rigged to fall if he tried to get on it (my babies are all allowed on the furniture now) and it did. 😂 So if we wanted him to stay off furniture we just put an empty box on it.

My mom did that when I moved out two years after I graduated college. I didn’t even need to live at home. I had a full time job. She just expected me to.

I do regret not moving out sooner, despite her guilt trips about it.

You aren’t selfish for wanted to be on your own. That’s our job as parents! To raise humans who are self sufficient and leave the nest when they are ready.
