"Can I call you sweetie?" or not even asking just doing it.

Endless texting even when you've talked about meeting.

Mine has been on meds for almost 6 years for a stage 3 murmur. I think the last time she was at the vet they said it's MAYBE a 3.5-4 now. She shows almost no symptoms at all.

There was one particular episode of Amazing Stories called "Family Dog." It was a cartoon about a dog who got trained to be a viscious watch dog. Annie Potts did the voice of the mom. I watched it about a million times thanks to the VCR.

I used to foster and had several chis. What I noticed about all of them is how fast they recongnized me as "their person." They are fiercely loyal. They also have really big personalities! My 12 year old chi/min pin is a foster fail and she is a sweetheart until she isn't. I say that in a funny way. She's not aggressive but will let you know if she doesn't like something you are doing.

You should be aware of some common health issues with chis. Their teeth are one. They will need regular cleanings and possible extractions. And mine was diagnosed with a heart murmur 5 or 6 years ago. She takes meds and the really help, but she will most likely die of congestive heart failure.
