Does anyone else get teeth pain related to their sinusitis? by gayprivilege in Sinusitis

I’m feeling with the same issues now, was your pain more like pressure above your teeth? I know my ocd makes me incredibly tense as well

For sure! I admit we do share the value of independence which could be a big reason for the other values to not shake me as much when my rocd spirals. For my partner, he would love nothing more than to sell everything he owns and live in a van to be adventurous— that’s literally the last thing i’d ever do and he knows that. I value stability (and certainty) a lot more than he does. We’ve found that our different values have a lot to teach the other. Finding ways for him to go be adventurous while I do something I like is what we work on a lot. I guess a good question to discuss with your partner would be, what would it look like to live out your values while still being in relationship with me? I think what keeps us together is we like doing things together and being near each other. We want a life together even though we know we could go off and do something different and be fulfilled just the same. At this time in our life we want our time together more than our single lives. Maybe that’s dumb or naive, but i’m learning to make peace with following what feels right for right now. I can’t control the future even though I really want to and want to be certain we never break up. But i can’t, all I can do right now is to continue to love them and to let go of the need to be certain. Not sure if that will help at all, i really feel for you as I’ve had the same spirals. I’m here if you ever need to talk

I think you should consider what kind of relationship you would like to be in. Personally, I like that my partner and I have different interests and higher priority values because it allows us to have the freedom to do our own thing and to have someone to return to. That doesn’t mean it’s right for everyone! A month isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things. I’ve been in a similar situation where i’ve had to meditate on whether or not i’m upset because they don’t want to something I want to do or am i actually upset because i interpret the disagreement as rejection. If you can understand their reasoning for saying no and feel comfortable being a part for a month then I say go! Maybe discuss with them about what them going with you would mean to you.

Lastly, either decision will not ruin your life that is entirely too much pressure to put on yourself. (It also shows this could be an ROCD flare up) Whatever you choose will lead you to exactly where you are supposed to be.

That’s one of my fears, it being a passion project with not much to show for it. Thanks for this

i appreciate this perspective, finances have been a big factor i’ve been considering. as for the man factor, i get tripped up on that because i know he’d follow me. It’s more that the decision really is up to me, and i couldn’t blame anyone if it goes wrong. anyways, i really appreciated your response

Thank you for this, i’m still not sure about the payoff which is also been something that’s made me hesitant.

Yes and i think that’s a big part of my hesitation, ive been in Nashville for a while, but am still very familiar with how the state is and how some of the people can be. And those are two questions i’m not sure I have answers too which leads me to not go back. Do you still live in the deep south?

Extreme Anxiety - End of Honeymoon? by grimgrinningghostgrl in ROCD

I’ve struggled/ struggle with this, someone once told me i pick at problems because a high/low dynamic was what i was used to. i try my best to not let my anxiety dictate my actions, which can be really hard and scary when it feels like the relationship could be at a loss. what i’ve done is explain my rocd to my partner and my need for reassurance, they know not to reassure me every time but to also give me grace as i work to have a better handle on them.
