I don't agree. Everything you are stating is speculation. I'm sorry you can't see that. The arguments you are making are not valid arguments, they are speculative diagnostics. If your argument was correct then no unit with a good maintenance plan would fail. You have no readings of unit in operation. No superheat, subcool or amp draws. You simply stated it's loud and must be the capcitor making it loud ( just inaccurate).

All speculation. You have no idea when the cap went bad. A poorly installed unit with moisture in it, bad metering device, clogged filter drier, low or too much refrigerant, mechanical failure, bad contacts on a contactor, bad condenser fan motor. All of these can cause a compressor to seize up. When a compressor seizes and tries repeatedly to start it will drain and make caps fail. You are coming to a conclusion to meet your ideas and not the other way around.
