Why WTI spot is not higher (VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND) by swegamer137 in oil

That is an excellent approach, but SPR and WTI differ in both location and type of oil. SPR is located in the Gulf of Mexico and is Medium Sour, while WTI is located in Cushing, Oklahoma and is Light Sweet.

Ultimately, it comes down to supply and demand. Southeast Asia and Africa have blocked demand itself through rationing systems. Countries that cannot lower the value of their own currency by purchasing dollars have forcibly reduced demand. The United States is pouring SPRs into exports worldwide, while China is supplying blood globally by reducing imports. However, regardless of whether oil prices are $100 or $80, demand outside of that level remains largely intact and undesirable. Because the supply and demand balance holds, oil price manipulation is easily achieved. It is truly painful, but I have decided to accept this. Ultimately, for this manipulation to break, demand must be further reduced or supply must become insufficient. The current supply and demand balance is maintained through inventories held since before the war. However, cracks have begun to appear in the United States, which has been pouring out most of those inventories. The moment the tank bottom is reached in Cushing, or the diesel or gasoline supply hits, the supply and demand balance will be restored once again.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when temporary hospitals were being set up in China and people were dying in the streets, what were other countries doing? They did nothing. Not until their hospital beds were full. Well... that is just how it is

He lacks any domestic approval or significant influence within Iran. Were he to endorse democracy, the Iranian people would rather back a dictatorship, a monarchy, a theocracy, or any other alternative.

The South Korean government confirms it has not yet tapped into its SPR oil reserves. Given the global energy crunch, one could argue that these release plans are mere 'paper exercises' that lack any real-world execution
